Is this guy reliable? It just doesn't make sense to sell someone who is seemingly determined to stay and who we have spent so much on, especially if we get a past-it Schweinsteiger instead of a Goetze or Muller, in return.

It seems to me that Di Maria struggles in a possession based system as he is profligate with the ball.

Surely he would have the same issues playing for Pep as he does with Van Gaal.

He would have been great in a Fergie team 'follow your nose son'.

Agree. IF and that's a big if we were going to do some sort of trade, I'd only want Gotze or Muller in exchange. I'm hoping this is just gossip as it would be a shame to discard of him now and watch him become a star again elsewhere.

Gotze, Schweiny & some money for Di Maria sounds okay...

I doubt they'd considering inc Muller.

Yep. Good source for Bayern news. He had an interview with Sammer and Guardiola about a week ago

He is the chief reporter for Sport Bild, who covers mostly Bayern and the German national team. Reliable is a myth regarding football transfers, but yeah, they are usually well informed.

Rummenigge to @SkySportNewsHD :- I have talked to Schweinsteiger last days. I understand the interest from England flatter him. Wait and see

Something going on between Schweinsteiger - Bayern - Man UTD Looks like a game now between Runmenigge and Schweinsteiger: - You say GO 1st

Bayern - Schweinsteiger looks like a "blame-game". "Was he told to go?" "Did he ask to be sold?" To be continued...

Sounds like a crap deal to me.

I don't rate Götze anymore and I don't think he would work out in the PL and Schweinsteiger is well past it.

It would be a very poor exchange on our side. I would bite their hands of for Müller but not for Bastian or Götze.

Considering he'd likely cost less than Sterling, I'd say it'd be the best time to go for Gotze, and I still think he can become one of the very best.

This. Muller or possibly Lewandowski are the only ones I'd want if we were to entertain the idea of selling them Di Maria.

What position does he play? Is he one of those players that can play anywhere across the front 3 behind the striker? If so, we have plenty of those.

As a few have said, as a winger, he isn't worth what we paid for him.

I think the opposite because Louis van Gaal likes his wingers to be attacking. At Bayern it was Heynckes who gave Robben and Ribery more defensive responsibility, Jose Mourinho expected a lot more work from Angel di Maria defensively especially with Ronaldo on the other flank, I don't think Louis van Gaal wants that, he wants Angel di Maria to create things and the idea is the team will create space for him, Depay and our '10' whether that is the most attacking central midfielder in a 4-3-3 or a 10 in a 4-2-3-1.

If Angel di Maria wants to stay and Louis van Gaal wants to keep him then I do too, I think time will tell whether he will be worth it but we must understand his role under Louis van Gaal will be different than under Mourinho.

Thank feck!

The more interesting way to look at it is that we really are in talks with Bayern to sign Bastian!!

I'm still not a 100% sure he'll leave Bayern, but I'm happy we have a shot at getting him if he decides to go!

Thank feck!

I still cant believe people still believe Di Maria will be sold in any way this summer. I am 99.9% that he will be United player next season. We will not offload both our marque signings from last transfer window.

With RVP and Falcao gone, and Hernandez injured but out of favour, we clearly need a striker, so it will be interesting to see who we do get.
Muller and Kane are the names being banded about, but I would like to see us look at Lacazette.

I don't want any Bayern player in a swap deal which would involve Di Maria.

I actually don't think he will be sold either, but if something doesn't work, then why not?
Di Maria isn't the CM for our team, he doesn't fit the role well.
As a winger he's still a top player, but he was benched so much last year, it says something

The way I see things at the moment, after a quick analysis of news content online:

Darmian: Almost there, a lot of people saying it's only now down to the medical (Likelihood of joining us this window): 90%
Otamendi:Some sources are now saying a deal is almost there, and that is why Real are out of the picture. Don't know for sure though: 45%
Ramos: Who knows. I think this one will end with him signing a new contract: 10%
Schweinsteiger: It's looking likely, but not sure about the recent news that he wants to sit down with Real. The Di Maria / Muller / Gotze developments seem to be complicating things 35%
Schneiderlin: All a bit quiet. Don't know if that's good or bad, but seems to be linked to the Schweinsteiger situation: 45%
Lacazette: All the talk seems to be of Liverpool. We should be stepping our interest up 5%

So I would say one almost certain signing this week, with 2-3 more to follow, perhaps.

Is it just me who is unsure about Lacazette? Has he been great for more than one season? I had never heard about the guy in 2014.

it would be nice if LVG or woodward came out and said he's not for sale.

other directors/clubs have no problem doing this.

If we can keep di Maria and nab Sweini, as well as the likely arrivals of Darmian and Schneidy, I'd be over the bloody moon.

Thing is, we'd still need a DDG replacement (Oblak or Leno pls), CB (Ramos or Otamendi) and a CF (who the feck knows).

That was terrible. Lol.

Really? 45% means you think there's more chance he won't join than he will?

Have you ever thought of setting up an ITK style Twatter account? You have as much idea as any of the other cnuts out there...
