Zero chance we sell Costa. He's probably worth about £50m now. No way they could afford it.

Stop creaming yourselves. :boring:

£50million

Its not really that laughable tbh, he only cost 32m because of his buyout clause. If Sterling is worth 40m then Costa is easily worth around the 50 mark, plus Chelsea don't want to sell, so it would take a huge fee to get him out of there.

£50million
Multiple years left on his contract, one of our best players, we aren't a selling club, he's relatively young, and is one of the 5 best strikers in the world. Why is that laughable? Especially in a world where Sterling is apparently worth £50m.

And Kane 45m

Sterling isn't worth 40m that's the problem. I think any team willing to pay 50m for Costa are slightly mad. Far too many injuries

Sterling isn't worth that though. That's what Liverpool want. Doesn't make him worth that. I don't think any team would pay 50mil for Costa due to the injuries he gets.

Then they won't sign him I guess.

It's all a moot point anyway because this story is made up.

That is the only caveat about him, people seem to forget that Chelsea got him for the price they did due to a buyout clause.

Didn't Kane score more goals than Costa? I don't think Kane is worth that by the way

Inflated prices for one season wonders. Sterling is talented, of that there is no doubt, but he had an average season this year after everyone saying he was going to kick on and improve on his great season last year. Kane is the same, I wouldn't think any top club will be interested until he has shown he can score 20+ goals a season for at least two in a row.

I'd throw his passport forger a couple hundred grand to admit his true age and then give Chelski a couple million to take the 39 year old forward off their hands. :)

Point being? I don't think thats how it works. Costa has done it at a higher level (UCL) and over a longer period.
Also he scored 1 more league goal and played 8 or 9 more league games so its not exactly a better record.

Costa has the best midfield in the premier league creating chances for him. Did Costa score in the champions league this year?

Agreed. I'm surprised it's not banned here.
People need to start using common sense. In the OP it says "outside of the obvious ones". In that category the likes of Metro, Daily Star, Daily Express etc are included but with people posting stuff from the Express and Daily Star in recent times, they've ended up having to be added to the list itself

I don't get your point, his record was better, don't care if he played for a better team (he plays for a better team because he earned that with his performances in previous seasons, well season and a half at Athletico). Yes he didn't score in the UCL this season.

So you would pay 50mil for a player who didn't score a goal in the champions league? Chelsea had a simple group aswell. You mentioned Kane not me haha. I'm pointing out Kane had better stats last season. Costa hasn't improved on what he done for Atletico.

Kane didn't have better stats, he scored 1 more goal and played 9 more games (I'm obvioulsy talking about the league) and I mentioned Kane in reference to the 45m price tag which was mooted.

Well given he scored 8 goals in 9 games in the UCL the previous season, and he was largely suffering injury issues during this seasons UCL I don't think its a big deal. I presonally wouldn't buy him for 50m no, I would pay a bit more and go for Aguero, but I don't think its silly to say he would cost that and if he were available for that price I would bet many clubs would be looking to do a deal. However obv Chelsea don't want to sell sell.

I don't see how anyone can even compare the 2 players right now. Kanes had a good 8/9 months. Costa been at a high level for 2.5 seasons. You pay for the fact hes been doing it for longer.

Sky Sources: West Ham are talking to the following about the vacant manager position: De Boer, Unai Emery, Slaven Bilic & Marcelo Bielsa.

Sky: Christian Benteke's agent is aiming to meet Tim Sherwood in the next 10 days to discuss the player's future.
Sky: Eris Kismet says Christian has ambitions, wants to play European football but stay in Premier League. He has 2 years left on current deal.

If West Ham get Emery to be their new manager, it'd be a massive coup. He was linked with the Madrid job and rightfully so.

My unread messages at the top says 40. Does it go any higher than that as it seems to have been 40 for a while?
