Haven't posted the tweet as not sure it's considered reliable enough but Red News United fanzine have posted in their VIP section that United haven't yet bid for Coleman but he wants to come if we do.

Probably to be expected but I wonder if he'd try and force it through if we bid.

If this is true, then hopefully Woody has some Vaseline ready because Everton will bend him over.

Not really. We should simply move on to other targets. Coleman isn't exceptional. He's an improvement on Valencia sure, but not by that much. I would be perfectly happy with Valencia starting if we give Varela or McNair a chance to play there in the long term.

People have to remember:
Often, with deals like the Schneiderlin one, the clubs hold talks and when they come close to an agreement over price and general terms, then the bid is submitted formally, so if the clubs are still negotiating the final details (as it was reported yesterday?) then it'd make sense if the bid hasn't come in officially just yet.

Breaking news on SSN:

Sky Sources: Ramos tells Madrid he wants to leave club and join Manchester United.

 Some seriously dodgy reporting has gone on. A significantly lower bid than last weeks reports? Ducker also wrote we made a 2nd bid of £35m the other day...

Didn't they refuse more than that already according to earlier reports ?

In response Woody has reduced the bid ?

Just like on FM when you get a bit excited and thrown in your initial bid to high. Quickly withdraw the offer, then go back in a week later with a lower offer. Makes perfect sense

The fact that Koeman has said we haven't made a "serious" bid for Schneiderlin yet means that we definitely have made some kind of bid for him.
Unless Southampton demand silly money for him then this transfer is going to happen.

That's how I'm reading it too. They want to best deal possible for him and the comment is a bit of a sign for us to show them a bit more cash.
