Can't see how Pogba improves Barca, he'll be Fabregas mark 2 for them.
What's his natural role in the side? They'll be awkwardly trying to fit him in and disrupting the side in the process

BREAKING: Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande confirm signing of Paulinho from Tottenham for £9.8m

How the hell is Levy doing that?

Well, that's our midfield 3 now sorted.

Next up could well be David Villa. Fingers crossed.

Everyone wants to play for Tottenham.... You guys couldn't even get Fellaini.

GlastonSpur said:
Why would we even want him? We're fine in CM with Sandro, Paulinho and Dembele

Comparing the likes of Eriksen, Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho (etc) to Fellaini doesn't wash I'm afraid. Most of them will play key parts in Spurs' season this time around, whilst Fellaini is just an unwanted donkey. Unless you heavily subsidise his wages I'll be surprised if there any takers.

As for the rest, your superior "United quality" attitude is stuck in the past. You dismiss the likes of Paulinho (for example) as "second rate", never mind that he starts for Brazil and would walk into your central midfield.

Well that went well @GlastonSpur :lol:

They play more direct now than under Pep. Still, I don't see muhc point in that transfer considering that Rakitic was very good for them in the second half of the season. It looks a signing for the sake of signing.

It looks like a presidential promise from Laporta which is odd since he can just point to 2006 onwards and say 'there'
He seems to be the anti Perez.

The new president needs a marquee signing and they're well stocked in the attacking areas, not to mention, there are not any marquee attacking players available. That's how it always worked for those clubs. Sometimes it worked like in the case of Suarez and Neymar and on others it backfired like Zlatan and Fabrègas.

Extremely exciting line up with loads of pace and quality, I wonder how that'd fit in with Simeone's philosophy of hard working team. There's still Jackson Martinez to fit in there.

Not sure if anyone else cares, but it's all over Dutch media right now.

Not surprised by this if this is true. He threatened to resign if they didn't beat Latvia last November. Will they fast track the Danny Blind succession plan? He was in line to replace Hiddink after next year's Euros.

I wouldn't mind that, although VI hasn't confirmed it yet. Hiddink wanted to play 'Dutch school football' whilst our team isn't as good and we might not even qualify now. Playing a midfield of Blind-van Persie-Sneijder ffs..
Not sure if Danny Blind will be that much better.

Also I couldn't find a tweet but apparantly Aston Villa are in for Tjaron Chery from FC Groningen. Good little CAM with a great shot.

I think so. Been hearing rumours that Hiddink was resigning soon and would take a staff role supporting Danny Blind.

Will they go for koeman? He wanted to manage the national team right?

Feck me but Pogba is currently so overpriced in the market.

The prices being quoted for him are ridiculous - in the region of world record fees FFS. And then his wages on top of it.

He's supremely talented, no doubt. And he might one day reach those levels where his considered a top 3 player in the world etc., but at this moment in time he shouldn't be going for anything above 40-45m quid IMO. But yeah, could just be my bias against him talking though.

He should be going for similar fees to Verratti IMO.

I'd be making sure he doesn't experience second season syndrome at Southampton. Let's remember his managerial wasn't brilliant before he took over at Southampton.

No I think koeman was the front runner to replace van gaal before they went with hiddink. And rk wasn't happy

And I think koeman will be fine. They seem to be doing decently in the market and only 2 exits yet. I'll be really surprised if they end up like Everton did this year

Fair enough.
