Lack of ambition from Aguero, he's good enough to play for Real or Barca. But he's being paid well enough.

His name is Tadpole yet he is anti youth....
I am not at all. I just think if we do get Otamendi the opportunities for him will not be great, so either being sold or a loan to the like of Newcastle might develop him more. If he isn't playing regularly at that age he won't develop any further. Rate McNair more and am said Thorpe has gone, who I rated more highly.

He can still win trophies at Man City and play under great managers and with great players. No way it is a lack of ambition, good loyalty - even if they aren't the most prestigious club.

How do city manage to keep hold of their best players but we don't

Some players are just happy if their club/family/life conditions are amenable to what they want. Its probably a good thing to all Argies that there are about 6 of them at both Manchester clubs and probably increases the chances that more will come based on familiarity with those already here - Otamendi mainly, but others as well.

Over the years we've refused to give in to their demands (besides Rooney for some reason), or with players like Ronaldo he always stated it was his dream to play for Madrid. We still managed to hold on to him for a couple more years, too.

However you look at it, it's a small win for the PL at least, one less superstar siphoned by La Liga (if his statements are true).
Chelsea never lost someone they wanted to keep since Abramovic. Neither does Bayern or City and neither did we before Ronaldo. Big clubs who can compete trophy wise and financially do not lose their players. Liverpool and Spurs are obviously not part of that group which is why Ronaldo and De Gea are an exception to the rule over the past 10 years at least.

They won't compete seriously at the highest level for a while, something Aguero as a player of his ilk ought to be regularly participating in.

I don't recall him ever saying that until he began campaigning for the move.

Suddenly he remembered that playing for Madrid was a lifelong dream. Or maybe it was Barcelona. Depended on who wanted him the most, I guess.

Why? For sure they will compete for the title next year and they are in the CL last two years they have been up against Barca. With more favorable draw they can make it further this year.

Good point man

Which is said every single year but still they underperform.

It seems like it was more of his Ma's dream for him to play for Real from what i've gathered.

I've never known a mother of a footballer, to be so prominent in football like she was at that time, & to a much lesser extent, now.

Cant say i like the woman tbh.

Just watching yesterdays Paddy Crerand Show and he said Ronnies team was Benfica, not Real, so yes he was doing it for his mummy.

I heard the same thing, but some posters told me that I was wrong.

Edit: @DomesticTadpole I'm almost sure that it's Sporting CP not Benfica.

Wasn't it his dead fathers wish for him to play in Madrid?
Could be nonsense though

Not so long ago Real didn't make it past the QF's for 7 years in a row. Things change. Not that I want them to do good, but he's at a good place at the moment, not to mention being on 210k+ weekly.
