Yeah, don't really get that type of comment. Ramos is a very good defender, yes he is not Nesta or Maldini, but who is these days. Some people on here want Hummels but wouldn't want us to sign Ramos, thats a little ridiculous tbh

EDIT: He aint leaving Madrid though anyway

So you don't get why people compare things to previous generations? Yet the "but who is these days" comment?

Personally think they're has been a massive slump in the quality of central defenders in recent years. Not sure why it isn't a valid comment. Ramos is a very good but not great defender, that says it all, as some rate him as the best in the world.

In terms of when people say they don't want x player here, then compare him to different generations instead of whats available today. Yes I think that is weird.

I didn't say I didn't United to sign him, simply pointing out how the standard of being one of the best defenders in the world has fallen recently. I wasn't goin back generations in my line of thought. Not saying we should sign Bobby Moore :wenger:

Hopefully this is the standard lazy 2+2=5 story based off him being Dutch, he's nowhere near good enough.

I didn't say you did, and wasn't specifically talking about you in terms of not wanting to sign him.
I also didn't contradict myself.

He'd struggle to make a list of top 20 goalkeepers in the world. Scratch that, he wouldn't even come close. Not Roy Carroll but not what we need here either.
 
Wasn't even 1st choice for the national team. Seems like bullshit to me.
 
That would be very underwhelming, like when we replaced Ronaldo with Valencia.
 
We're not signing Cillessen. Anyway if you read the article, it says Frans Hoek is apparently the one who has come up with the list of candidates to replace de Gea. He's coached some of the best keepers in the world. I'm not too worried.

I doubt we're buying him, but if we were, I would accept and get on with it. No sense with indefinite moaning because we didn't get our preferred shiny new toy.

Why should anyone accept mediocrity? People didn't do it with Moyes, and the won't with LVG either.
 
Cillessen is the De Vrij/ Clasie of this window. Weak spot in the team + Van Gaal + decent Dutch national team player. 2 + 2 + 2 = 983456439897

Well, that's you. You're trying to insinuate we're spoilt but you do realise he isn't actually that good a keeper. I'd be pretty pissed off if we decided to replace De Gea with Cilliessen.

One of our posters stated that he had a tendency to buy Dutch players @Balu was it you, apologies if it wasn't.
But no matter, I trust him in the market.
