Dybala's stock has fallen so hard in the last 2 years.. oof

True but we have limited budget, No CL football and our number 9 has dropped a massive bombshell on us.

Dybala on a free transfer would probably be a result given the situation. I'm pretty sure he'd like playing under ETH too given the style of football he likes to play.

Really don't want Belotti.

Players like Dybala and Pogba that tried to fleece us. Now Karma is come back to get them. They are basically old news and the world has moved on.

Don't say that mate, you'll have Romano FC on your case.
To be fair it's not just Romano, they're all at it! Almost sixty days into the FDJ saga and they are still negotiating the 'bonus' payments and they haven't started personal terms yet. Some days I'm think it's nailed on and other days I'm convinced it's off. The longer it goes on the more I feel we're getting used to lower his wages.

We'll soon see, hopefully!

The only reason I have hope is that although Barca will use us, De Jong has too much respect for Ten Hag to let him get strung along like that. I believe this is the only reason United are putting up with Barca's shite for this long. He will sign, just a matter of time. Ideal before the preseason tour but if not, no biggie.

So who would you want that's realistic ? considering our budget and the options that are available ?

Everyone is saying no thanks like we've got plenty of options.

Ronaldo's salary is £510 net, and around £867 gross or about £45 million per year. If we can get £5-15m transfer fee as well that gives a reasonable budget to work with in saved wages and fees. We would lose around £25m in shirt sales and marketing but that would be counted later. Plus we could actually sell some players, doubtful but possible.

All of these players are better than an over the hill, out of form Dybala. Most with lower wage demands. Prices are from the press not me.

David £43m (Ten Hag likes him according to the dutch press)
Scamacca £43 (if we are quick, we could match PSG's offer (so never going to happen))
De Ketalaere £33 (false 9)
Schick ???? (Doesn't seem to want to move but worth asking to find out)
Osimhen £70 (over priced/De Laurentis is nuts)
Kalajdzic £22 (interesting)
Toney £40 (decent last year in PL)
Isak £75 (over priced)
Broja £30
Ekitike £30
Gouiri ???? £25?
Evanilson ???? £45?
Dembele Lyon £25 (we have always wanted him for some reason)
Depay £20 (international record/dutch/crazy/tattoos/hilarious cars/outfits)
Yussuf Poulsen ???? (basic target man, works insanely hard pressing for the team)
Martinez £58 (doesn't fit EtH but quality finisher)
Werner £30 (doesn't fit EtH but very available)
DCL ???? £85 (over priced, injuries yet still better than Dybala)
Watkins ???? (Great presser, never stops running)
Brereton ???? (Been great for Chile, United lad, left us at 14)
Ben Yeddar ???? (Always 10kg overweight in preseason yet always scores plenty in the season)

It's not like there's no one out there. There will be more that others will know, let alone false 9 options.

EtH has shown he's happy to work with what can be brought in with the money available to the club. Huntelaar, Dolberg, Tadic, Brobbey, and Haller are all hardly world class but he created successful sides with them. Everybody needs to calm down and give Ten Hag a chance to work with the squad.

If Ronaldo wants to go so be it. There's no point in forcing anyone to stay who doesn't want to be here. Ronaldo will be like Cavani last season repeatedly declaring himself unfit and going home to Portugal if he stays. Let Ten Hag find his own solution.

I think we’ll see these three announced on Friday - Malacia, Eriksen and Martinez. They’ll fly to tour and we’ll get Frenkie done the following week. I’m sure we’ll do everything to push that one through this week too but looks unlikely as it’s all gone a bit quiet.

I can then see whatever outs we have, with Ronaldo being the big one, happening after and we’ll either pivot to a striker target or continue with our pursuit of an inverted right forward.

To be honest in amongst all this “we must get x players“ lark, I really care more about seeing ETH implementing his style and his character to the team. I’d rather a careful, thought out rebuild than a bunch of knee jerk signings

Yeah we only are getting either a striker or a right sided forward definitely not both of them

Two or three years ago I would have loved dybala to come here. Not sure it would be smart anymore.

I think Dybala might be considering Arsenal.

Why would Arsenal want him? They have Odegaard and they just bought Jesus and Vieira. They don't need any more attackers. They should focus on dm and defence.

One major issue with the players we’re linked with and signed so far is that only one in de Jong can be considered a guaranteed starter. Eriksen might be depending on Bruno but Malacia and Martinez are very much rotation players. Our starting 11 is short 4 to 5 quality players and the business while good so far doesn’t address that.
