hope he goes to chelsea for decent money and their owner is dumb enough to force him on Tuchel, one less rival for top 4
I don't understand how some people are still worrying about his legacy with us, whatever he didn't ruin last time it's already ruinned now.

How much do we think he’ll cost for the buying club for a 38 year old? Do we get say, 10M or let him go on a free and rid of his wages?

I’ve thought this through mate

You think they will keep a player here that doesn’t want to be here in any way? You don’t think ETH will have thoughts about this?

Nope. They will likely say to Mendes he can go but not in the PL. Simple.

They aren’t going to fold and strengthen a rival for top 4 for a paltry transfer fee (whilst losing the money Ronaldo brings to the club and devaluing the club status).

Far fetched to say otherwise

If he wants to win the CL, it's not going to be with Chelsea. Maybe Bayern, but they couldn't do it with Lewy, so I don't think Ronaldo would be the difference.

If Ronaldo wants to win any trophy, Bayern is a strong candidate. CL is a toss up for obvious reasons. But the chance is clearly there domestically. PSG or Lille don't want him, he's not going back to Spain. He's a poor fit for Chelsea, even if he fills a role.

He's getting desperate because father time is knocking on his door, in terms of top teams incorporating his specific abilities, where scoring 25 goals across a season isn't anything to look down on, it's also not 35+ anymore.

That new owner at Chelsea wanting him makes more sense than Bayern wanting him imo.

Boehly loves bringing big names to Los Angeles. The headlines in the US would be nonstop with Chelsea signing CR7. It is a marketing dream for a new owner.

Hope your lot sign him and take him off United’s hands. He will score you some goals but he’ll bring some problems along at the same time as you may already know

From the buying clubs perspective, sure. Still far from convinced we'd sell to a PL rival unless offered silly money

I think more the owner than the club if you get me.

Also I think he pretty much already knows his destination. He'd not leave it to chance I reckon.

And while silly money would be great, he'd be a fecking nightmare to keep against his will. He was tricky enough to manage last year. I'm not sure he'd improve any of our rivals too much to be honest.

If he makes it clear he wants out and Chelsea is the only option he will go there.

Not this Ronaldo. The shines off him at this stage.

I think we’ll see these three announced on Friday - Malacia, Eriksen and Martinez. They’ll fly to tour and we’ll get Frenkie done the following week. I’m sure we’ll do everything to push that one through this week too but looks unlikely as it’s all gone a bit quiet.

I can then see whatever outs we have, with Ronaldo being the big one, happening after and we’ll either pivot to a striker target or continue with our pursuit of an inverted right forward.

To be honest in amongst all this “we must get x players“ lark, I really care more about seeing ETH implementing his style and his character to the team. I’d rather a careful, thought out rebuild than a bunch of knee jerk signings

For him it's about Ronaldo's own legacy, not his legacy at United.
He only cares about his own records and always did.
I really wonder how that could be a surprise to anyone, it was clear all along that he'll be gone without CL.
Why shouldn't he go to Chelsea, he almost went to City last summer...
Because whilst they did win the CL two seasons ago, they aren't really in contention. They finished last season very poorly.

I guess we are about to find out.

Chelsea have formally submitted a £15m offer to Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo.

It’s believed Ronaldo would be very open to the move to Stamford Bridge and would like to stay in the Premier League. (Fabrizio Romano)

Utd should rip their hands off you for that. Including wages that’s 40m in our pockets to help buy a suitable replacement.
I'd sell him for that. If that's the opening offer we might be able to get 17-20 for him.

A influx of Ronaldo FC fanboys are setting up accounts on Theshedend as I type.

The amount of likes Romano gets on his tweets - especially insignificant updates such as this - is staggering. Many tens of thousands within minutes.

The sheer amount of people with a tab open or an eye on their phone at all times waiting for transfer news with bated breath, is crazy.

It's insane. 149k likes on the Eriksen tweet posted 3 hours ago.

True. Seems to be a club who don’t know what they’re doing at the minute. Might even tease 20m and go for 25 at the last minute. Good chance they’ll fall for it. They’re spending 45m on Ake who had 9 league starts last season after all

He was a co owner of the Dodgers, but not the majority owner. He's very far removed from the actual player acquisitions from his time with the Dodgers. And the Dodgers have always brought in big players and big salaries, but they've developed so many good players from their own system...again, not because of Boehly. He's a smart guy and knows investments and acquisitions, but you're all giving him far too much credit in terms of incoming and outgoing for Chelsea.

Acquiring any transcendent sports player is any team's dream, for the most part. But even the owner knows there's a large cost benefit to signing Ronaldo, especially when you consider what Tuchel wants from his squad.

He’s literally taken over negotiations from Maria
