Yes let's give away a very good goalkeeper and spend £50-60 million to replace him - especially when there are no goalkeepers available who is certain to be better. Especially when we have to spend almost twice as much in getting a world class striker.

It's bizarre, the said manager who wants to implement that style of play thinks he is adequate enough but we have armchair experts writing let him go because he is hurting our possession play. Absolutely hilarious.

To be honest, I wouldn't be massively averse to another loan Weghorst next season. Given that Martial can't be trusted to stay fit for an extended period of time, we'd be thin up front even if we manage to get one of Kane or Osimhen.

A lot of people are suggesting we go for Højlund or Ferguson on top of them and whilst I agree that this would be the dream scenario, it'd probably wipe out our transfer budget and we need more than just a few strikers this summer.

Of course, the primary difficulty here would be in convincing Burnley to extend his loan. I do wonder if we might be able to make it part of a deal for one of our own players though; Henderson, McTominay and Maguire would probably all be pretty astute signings for a newly promoted side looking to stay in the Premier League.

We absolutely need two strikers this summer but it will really depend on actually selling everyone who is surplus while being clever with our buys.

If for example we sold Maguire or Lindelof while signing N’Dicka on a free that would offer us a nice chunk of change to strengthen elsewhere.

We could likely make a profit selling Henderson and signing Raya as well.

Mejbri and Amad could both come into the squad allowing us to sell Elanga and McTominay or Fred.

We could reasonably sell 10-15 players.

Henderson
Maguire or Lindelof
Tuanzebe
Bailly
Jones (contract expiry)
Williams
Laird
Telles
McTominay or Fred
Van de Beek
Elanga
Martial

How could you say its reasonable? How often have we had anywhere close to that many sales in a single summer?

I meant in terms of who we can afford to let go not if it’s going to happen. It would be nice if new ownership were ruthless though.

I hope you understand I was being sarcastic - I absolutely want DDG to stay as our first choice.

Ten Hag when asked about Weghorst possibly staying on at United:

If this is true then I will lose faith in EtHs decision making as he has been one of the worst players I've seen in a United Shirt.

I'd rather see Bruno or Sabitzer as a false 9 than see WW play ever again. Absolute nothing player.

Ten Hag when asked about Weghorst possibly staying on at United:

Of course I don't expect him to criticise his only reliably fit striker but we cannot be having that. This guy is not even pub level and he needs to feck off in the summer.

Yeah utter ruthlessness is required from prospective new owners then it will allow Erik to demonstrate that as well

United have also inquired about the following strikers:
  • Victor Osimhen
  • Gonçalo Ramos
  • Evan Ferguson
    • Expected to sign a new contract with Brighton
    • Wants regular football

The most concerning part of the article for me is where it says we would be open to offers for AWB while giving Dalot a new contract.

Surely anyone who has watched us since the WC can see we should be shipping out Dalot if want to bring in a new RB. Dalot offers nothing in an offensive or defensive sense.

Agreed. We should keep AWB as 2nd option and move Diogo on. He’d probably have more suitors too.

I'd say it's highly likely this guy will be our first summer signing.

Not entirely sure how I feel about it simply because I don't think right back should really be a priority this summer. On the other hand, Bundesliga fans generally are extremely complementary about Frimpong.

Key points:

Other points:
  • Other players for sale:
    • Harry Maguire
    • Brandon Williams
    • Alex Telles
    • Anthony Martial
    • Eric Bailly (if he fails to make enough appearances for Marseille to make his loan transfer permanent)
  • United will look to loan out Elanga and Pellistri.
    • Amad may be integrated into the first team next season.
  • Reminder: ten Hag wants a new striker & dynamic midfielder

Tier 2:

Next week there will be a meeting between Manchester United and Facundo Pellistri's agent.
The club has already let him know that they want to improve his contract, which expires on 30/6/2025, but the meeting will focus on money and the length of the new contract.

The source of the Barcelona link:

We caught Juvenal Ferreira (Vitor Roque's father) and Ehler Pessoa (André Cury's right-hand man) visiting Barça's Ciudad Deportiva this morning.

The player's entourage is on a tour of Europe (London, Paris and Barcelona) assessing the best offers for his son.

Source (Tier 1):

Premier League eyes Mamardashvili

His agents were in London to meet with Chelsea

Manchester United and Tottenham are also interested in the Georgian.

Mamardashvili's reps met both United and Spurs before they met Chelsea, but neither United nor Spurs are interested enough to submit an offer.

Tier 2:

  • Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have concrete interest in signing Alexis Mac Allister in the next transfer window. Two of those clubs are already negotiating for the Brighton player.
  • His father and agent is in England monitoring the situation.

The English translation in Tweet form will be added in when it becomes available.
