 Is that why we’re targeting £100m Osimhen? Because we think we’ll get £100m from selling Maguire and McTominay?

Did not expect such a shitty, hysterical and blatantly false tweet from such a respected journalist and publication. Whitwell does have this in him though, does it about once or twice a year. Imagined being outperformed by Samuel fecking Luckhurst. Brutal.

Totally agree this ‘sell to buy’ nonsense is being pedalled by the Anti United Media agenda, the FFP is 90% of turnover this year is on wages, amortised transfer fees and agents fees, we will turn over £550m this year and reduce the wage bill accordingly by the Europa league clause of 20% so down from £385m
To £325m leaving £495-£325m is £170m spare for agent fees and amortised transfers. Put this in perspective Osimhen is signed for £120m on a 5 year contract with a one off upfront agents payment of £20m meaning we would have used £44m of our budget not £140m, I hope this clear the matter up once and for all, the problem is in 25/26 season When Uefa will allow only 70% and this will be a problem. The real issue right now is we have no cash in the bank and lost £120m last year,

The Glaziers have bled us dry and that’s why we couldn’t do anything in January we simply had no cash reserves left because the owners finally bled the club dry.

So new owners coming in and knowing they will have very little wiggle room in season 24/25 and 25/26 when what you spend is directly linked to your wage bill. If new owners come in and they are who we think , they will go for it this summer !

What if new owners dont come before the summer or that's definitely happening before the summer?

Then the club will probably increase their debt with the bank by £100m to nearly £700m as a bridging loan. Players still have to be sold due to the FFP new regulations and preparation for season 2025/26. The transfer budget will be reduced significantly to probably £150m after we sell £80m of players and we will take all summer to Sign 2 maybe 3 players. It doesn’t bear thinking about to be honest !

Tier 2:

  • Chelsea's last offer to Mount was for £180k/week
    • Mount hasn't accepted this offer.
    • Mount's current salary: £75k/week (one of the lowest in the squad)
  • United will focus more on bringing in an attack-minded midfielder instead of a DM due to Casemiro's prominence.
    • This + a new striker is high in priority for next summer.

As close as you get to Bruno in terms of type of player.

Manchester United are still linked to Diogo Costa, but that's all there is to it.

Any move would thrust him into the spotlight and create a lot of discussion on whether he's returning or what the plan is moving forward. Currently, there is none, and we'd all like to keep it that way. This would be the most unweclome of distractions at a time where the mood around the club is the best it's been in years.
Those were the days. So blissful.

I really hope we don't get Mount. Personally would see him as more of a Bruno alternative than an Eriksen one too.

Still need a backup DM without doubt

The most critical needs right now are:
1. Centre forward
2. Controller CM next to Casemiro.
3. A second CM/DM who can also control games.
4. A right winger.
5. Younger right centre back for Varane.

Would swap RW (bring back Amad) for an attacking RB such as Frimpong, however agree with the rest of it. Presume number 3 is backup for Casa or am I mistaken.

Ideally 2 and 3 would be the same player. Someone who has been signed as a partner to Casemiro, but can also fill in for him and line up alongside Fred or Erikson when needed.

Just another reason FDJ fits so well into our squad. If we can convince him to come, we'll be looking great in midfield.

RW also not a priority. Antony, Sancho, Amad and Pellistri is fine for now.

So center forward, center mid and either a CB or RB and we're ready for an unlikely but very possible title push next season

30 year old striker, ofcourse he is.

Would be disappointed with Kane. You would have to question the recruitment far too many core players approaching (or are already) 30 when there are younger alternatives in the market. It would also undermine Murtough who seemingly has done all this work to revamp the scouting infrastructure.

He would fit the system better than anyone. I understand wanting younger strikers, but Kane would work better with our inverted wide forwards than Osimhen or Ramos. Kane would pick up a boat load of goals and assists in this team. Just a shame hes 30

I'm not questioning the recruitment of Kane because just look at Casa for proof, but at the same time I don't want someone else getting the prime years of Osimhen either

I want a younger striker, but Kane has us going for the league next season or the season after. We need that.

Would Osimhen not? I completely understand going all in for a title when if it means lesser long term olanning but I'm not convinced there's much difference between the two.

Has ETH ever played with a striker that sits as deep as Kane does? I just fear he'll end up moving into the No 10 role and we're left chasing another expensive striker.

Raya would be very smart bit of business from us. A solid keeper who’s very comfortable with the ball at his feet and is available for a cut price due to his contract running out.
Yeah, extending De gea contract for a couple of years , getting Raya and selling Henderson would be a smart business. Raya is not very tall so we will have same problem as we have with set-pieces but atleast we dont have to spend fortune on GK position right now.

not a hope we pay less than 75 million. Not a great idea I don’t think.

He will be entering last year of contract so Spurs will definitely sell and give money to new manager.
Other than us, Bayern and Madrid might be interested but I dont think they will pay more than 75m for a player in last year of contract and will be 30 soon.

We have a very good chance of buying him and may be Maguire can go other way to reduce the price, but I dont see bidding war for ~100m between the clubs for him.

Does he? I think Kane is pretty much perfect for what Ten Hag wants

Watching how we have deployed Weghorst together with Rashford I agree. A striker who can also operate as a ten.

I think Kane would be better for both Rashford and Garnacho than a striker like Oshimen.

Really dont understand this as Osimhen fits our style better
Kane fits better in my opinion. A more all round striker, intelligent, creative as well as a goalscorer.

He's also a much safer bet as he's 100% prem-proven, and will be £30-40m cheaper.
