I think I asked this question some time ago and someone came up with some bullshit answer. How come Chelsea can spend whatever they like, yet United have to be careful about FFP?
Because they sold Hazard fir €150m a few years ago whilst serving a transfer ban so they haven't spent the money yet. that was the excuse last time i remember.

When we look at the FFP rules, they have done all the right things. You must break even. Costs associated with the youth academy does not count as an expense. When you sell a player developed by the academy, it counts as an income. So investing in the academy is really smart.
But I also wonder how they will be able to comply especially the coming years.
Clearly the part about FFP is not really that important, City and Chelsea have shown us that. But to be quite honest, if we want a striker who is cheap - I kinda like the idea of Weghorst. He offers us something completely new - and now that we have Eriksen on the set-pieces we will be a huge threat when Weghorst is on the pitch.
It's not important if the owner is willing to buy a yacht for someone or just simply pay the fine and move on which is obviously not the case with us.
They also have to worry about FFP hence their decision to low-ball Benfica for Enzo and their long contracts to their young players (reduces amortisation). The only difference is that they have more cash in the bank than United do thanks to the takeover, so they can do more in the market than we can this month.
I won't lie, that's still a lot of money to pay for Félix even though it's below Atletico Madrid's ask. There's also no mention of a purchase option/obligation (conditional or otherwise).

Interesting that he chose the team least likely to win a trophy this year, and probably least likely to turn the deal into a permanent one. My guess is that he didn't have much choice as MUFC and AFC probably refused to pay that loan fee.

I wouldn't be happy with Weghorst on a permanent deal. If we're getting a permanent striker Thuram and Fullkrug would be much better options imo. I expect they will agree some compromise on the loan. Don't see us paying £2.5m.
That's Euros, not Pounds. Besiktas are trying to milk this as much as they can. The loan fee is already half way paid off, and they'll be stubborn about releasing Wout. Burnley can just recall him and pay a fee to compensate for the recall. There's standard protocol in all this. Player wants to get it done, partner club is fine with it.

Granted he was poor for an awful Burnley-side, but in his last full season before joining Burnley he scored 20 goals in Bundesliga. Do I want him to be a regular - of course not, but I cant imagine many better players to have in the last 10 minutes of a game if you need a goal - or need to defend set-pieces. Imagine Shaw, Bruno and Eriksen with crosses into the box - where instead of Martial, we not have a 6'5 beast waiting
