Would be sad to see Garner go, but like others have said, if we (hopefully) insert a first refusal/buy back clause then it makes sense. Lets him kick on with a bit of security and his new club can play him without worrying about triggers or loan obligations. Hopefully a win win. Honestly wouldn't be against us doing the same with a few other players if the interest is there.

No mention of a buy back clause which I assume means there isn't one. In that case it's a terrible deal, honestly. 15 million (at most) for a 21-year-old CM who was a star player in the Championship is a robbery considering the general price levels this summer. I can't understand why we don't just keep him and give him a shot.

Yeah, important player for a newly promoted team, should have been 25-30M minimum.

Our failures in the selling market is another big reason why I continue to have major reservations over Murtough and co, and wouldnt rate this summer anywhere over a 6/10.

If there are supposedly four different clubs all in for him, I'm surprised it's as low as £15m. Surely at least one of the clubs can manage it - homegrown talent, too.

Do agree that if there's a buy-back clause the lower cost would make a bit more sense.

They have to put at least a sell on clause. At least get a bit more money in future. Wonder what the clauses are, appearance related you would presume. Doubt Everton will be winning PL or CL any time soon.

We should make a Survival two-pack and sell Wan Bissaka and McT for 40 mil. I guess they would be perfect for team fighting relegation and well worth paying 40 mil for potential 100+mil staying in PL next season. We could even add Jones if someone calls in the next 2 hrs.

Then we could take Dest, Depay and Frenkie and have the best window ever in terms of arrivals and departures.

Btw, we are one Casemiro complication away from being back where we started in midfield and we're moving on a player who shone in the championship for a promoted side at 21 years old like we have a blessing of options in his position. There is nothing about the decision to sell Garner that is remotely sensible.

Why the feck we getting shafted by everyone and then we sell a good player like him for 15m. Liverpool would have got double that for him.

35 for Garner and Wan Bisaka should be a decent budget to upgrade on RB position.

Would they though? They got slightly more for Neco Williams off the back of his Championship loan who'd played 2k minutes for Liverpool & has 20+ caps for Wales. They got less for Harry Wilson off the back of his loan to Fulham too.

Wow 15 million. Outrageous. Should be going for at least 30 imo and maybe even more if were smart about it.

In what fantasy world does a bloke on loan at Forest last season and nowhere near our first team command £30m!?

Complete fantasy. No one is paying that. He’s completely unproven at this level.

Garner going for under £20m is criminal! I just do not understand how we are so bad at selling. Dan James is the last palatable sale we’ve made in the last 10 years. The likes of Lukaku don’t count. I’m talking about selling talented young ones. Garner is going to end up being a solid prem player for a decade at least.

The worry here is that we're settling on one or both McFred featuring prominently in the first-team squad. If Garner is so bad he isn't as good as one of those though, 15 million sounds like we're ripping Everton off.

You are living in fantasy land. Garner isn’t even proven at this level.
I don't think he is to be honest, if you look at how much other top clubs get for their talanted young players. Then there's players like Nathan Ake who depiste playing almost never nearly went for 50 million.

We are just bad at offloading our players full stop, nevermind for good fees. Hopefully that changes under new management.

Chelsea just paid 20m for a lad at Villa who has not even played at Championship level, heck we paid 20m for Dan James who played a single season in the Championship.
Garner is worth more than 15m

What?

Ake had played over 12000 minutes in the PL before he went for £41m. Garner has played about 10.

Numbers basically. We're a couple of injuries away (in midfield) from complete disaster
I’m 6 numbers away from winning the lottery. It’s all what ifs. Stop focusing on what bad could happen and maybe think about what good might happen. Will help have a happier life.
