I don't know how good/bad Blind is these days, but one doesn't necessarily contradict the other, as Bayern have plenty of games(tates) against inferior teams, where they are fully in charge of possession and someone with experience and tidy ball control can still do a decent backup job, even if his athleticism may not be elite level.
