We will see, I don’t think he is worth that much with a year left on his contract.
£30m isn't that much. Southampton want more than that for a 29-year old James Ward-Prowse. Raya was one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League last season undoubtedly. Maybe he won't match it at a club like Arsenal but his performances have been good enough to merit a move. Arsenal clearly felt they couldn't wait a year.

30m is a lot for someone who can be signed for free in 12 months. 29 year old also and with 2-3 PL seasons under his belt. I think he is vastly inexperienced at a big club and most importantly I don’t think he is much better than Ramsdale if any.

I personally think he's significantly better than Ramsdale and I suspect the reason Arsenal went for him now instead of waiting is that they genuinely believe they can win the league this year and they see Ramsdale as a weakness. I wouldn't be completely shocked if they managed to win it tbh, considering City have lost some massive players in Gundogan, Mahrez and by the looks of it Walker too. Still expecting City to retain the title mind you.

EDIT: Also Raya's 27 and goalkeepers generally have longer careers anyway.

That's a huge loss for Chelsea. In the last week I've gone from thinking we'd probably come 5th to thinking we should really get 3rd without much issue (if Liverpool address their defence that could change but no suggestions to this point they will). Bad for Nkunku personally, his 2nd long-term injury in 1 year. His 3rd knee injury overall. Already think he came back a bit below his pre-injury level after the last one. A shame, really excellent player.

Official: Julen Lopetegui leaves Wolves

Gary O'Neil is the favourite to take over. Tier 1:

I hope we know what we're doing rejecting £30m for McTominay......
Spoiler. We don't. And commenters on here might take this as a cue to start re-evaluating their judgements regarding (a) the unimpeachable wisdom of our transfer team and (b) the market value of our fringe players. Ward Prowse is pretty bog-standard in open play, but his 'one neat trick' is a lot more effective than McTominay's, so I don't blame WH for moving on if the two are both valued at 35-40ish.

Wonder what happened there. He did really well in his short spell at WOlves and is a very experienced manager. They were lookign really bad before he took over.

Of course O'Neil worked miracles at Bournemouth, they looked doomed from the start of the seaso, but its a huge gamble from Wolves and a totally different type of players he wll be working with from Bournemouth

Long story short: Lopetegui was promised extra funds for this transfer window, but then the PL FFP restricted their spending. Lopetegui tried to work around this, but he has now given up and left the club.

There were murmurs of him leaving Wolves near the start of the window as well, but he then committed himself to the club.

Source (Tier 1):

More on the Kepa Arrizabalaga affair.

Bayern and Chelsea are talking: the formula could be a loan with a mandatory option to buy.

In the next few days the German club is planning to present a first official offer.

For Thomas Tuchel he is the first option.

First call by Kerry Hau (Tier 2):

New goalkeeper candidate: FC Bayern is interested in Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea FC!

Thomas Tuchel has recommended him, he can well imagine a move to Munich.

First talks have already taken place, but the next steps will only be decided in the coming days - because the FCB has two other candidates on the shortlist besides the Spaniard.
