Marco Silva on Fulham's summer transfer window activities:
We have a very good group, which had an excellent pre-season, it’s full of quality, but we need to be more competitive in the squad to prepare for the most difficult competition in the world, the best championship on the planet.

We need to act faster, the market has been difficult for us, but we have to act faster, even so the pre-season has been very positive, the players have been giving their all, which is always important, and it’s good to integrate the new players. It’s part of a process, we started later than some of our opponents, but it was a positive pre-season.

We have to have more reinforcements for when the Premier League starts, there is no other way, we still have a few players to sign and they are not that few. We know the market only closes on August 31st, but the Premier League starts on August 6th for us. We have to have more players to be at the level that the Premier League requires.

Aaron Ramsey is available for free now. I wonder if he still has the quality to play in EPL.

Azpilicueta:
The Barça-Chelsea relationship continues to be good, fluid. Talks continue for his signing. Despite the clash of interests in this market.
Barça wants to bring in a defender and a winger.
Azpilicueta is confident that it will be closed.

Yeah great but most clubs after a decade of £2b being pumped in would probably be in a position to have a load of saleable assets to sell every summer.
I saw a transfermarkt shot today that showed City as 13th in net spend in the last 5 years (& 10th in the PL). Doesn’t feel right to me but I haven’t fact checked it so could be BS. If true then that would start to be impressive given that spans just about the entire Guardiola era. Would be damning on other clubs spending more than anything.

I'm not saying it isn't objectively impressive transfer dealing, but given the sheer amounts of money that have been pumped in since 2008 then it stands to reason City will always have a massive squad and many saleable assets to make the net spend look good every summer.

  • Chelsea will have a tough time selling Werner due to his £275k/week wages.
    • Loan most likely way for Werner to leave Chelsea this summer
  • Interested clubs (loan):
    • RB Leipzig
    • Newcastle United
    • Juventus (Morata alternative)
  • Chelsea are also interested in Denzel Dumfries as well as Milan Skriniar.

The Werner move is not good news. If Juve had gone for Morata, it would potentially open the door for Ron to move to Atletico.

Imagine being a Juve fan and looking at the prospect of Morata or Werner.

  • West Ham & Frankfurt are currently in negotiations.
    • Frankfurt won't stop Kostic from leaving for the right offer.
  • West Ham's most recent offer: just under €15m
    • Not enough for Frankfurt
  • Frankfurt want €20m for Kostic
    • Also open to €18m + bonuses
  • West Ham are offering Kostic more than double his salary at Frankfurt.
