João Palhinha is one of the main candidates to leave Sporting this summer, so the Lions are unlikely to make things easy for those who want to take him.

According to Jornal de Notícias, the Lions are looking to make at least €30m with the sale, plus a potential €10m in bonuses. They’d still have a margin of negotiation, since Palhinha’s release clause is €60m.

Besides Tottenham and Wolves, Manchester United are said to be interested in the player as well.

Twitter speculation thread probably the best place for this but there are some rumours on Twitter of a potential Jim Ratcliffe movement for the club. Might aline with the exodus of some senior people at the club and his very public approach to buy Chelsea when it was too late. Probably bullshit but it is a comforting thought before bed.
please Jesus be true

It was easy for many to blame Ole or the club for Lingard not moving last year but if it wasn't clear before surely by now everyone realizes the guy was only ever interested in a big pay day by moving as a free agent. And that's his right he can see out his contract if he want's but he was no victim and he wasn't mislead, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Mate move on.

Who in their right mind would sign an 8 year contract? Specially not for a wage that "low" - He has 3 years left on his contract, I'm sure he could sign somewhere earning closer to £400k a week including the big fat bonus.

But to be fair, whoever said it was a good idea for him to sign the extension last year should be fired too.

City are pushing to bring Julián Álvarez in a month earlier.

River Plate chief Enzo Francescoli on the player leaving earlier than expected:
Julian Alvarez is a very professional boy who adapts quickly. He has grown a lot and always works for the team. With the people from City we meet personally and talk about the situation of Julian Alvarez, it is likely that he will leave in June. From what I heard from Guardiola, I understand that Manchester City want Julian in their team from June.

River Plate president Jorge Brito on this topic:
City must pay the clause for Julian Alvarez to leave. He is at River until 7th July.

Danjuma's agent Michael Moses on his client's future:
There is a 50% chance that Danjuma will leave this summer.

On the Newcastle United links, Moses hinted at Howe's presence potentially helping the Magpies if they do decide to pursue Danjuma. Note: Howe managed Danjuma when the player was at Bournemouth.

I wonder if he now regrets the move. This guy isn’t going to play much now after Haaland is going there as well

The club want to keep him here because of the publicity his off the field activity generates. Ten Hag won't be allowed to sell him, just as Mourinho wasn't.

Exactly. They aren't confident in his footballing abilities, they just know that hes massively marketable to the gullible masses.

The club want to keep him because he is a very good player, and a home grown one at that. One season off the back of an injury which required surgery and a stupid euro final cameo ( on Southgate) that has shattered the lads confidence doesn’t change the player Marcus is. If ETH gives him confidence then Marcus will flourish again next season and this season will be forgotten.

Never ceases to amaze me the lengths people go to, to create/follow an agenda.

Money Spent on wages > Money gained from specific advertisers because one player does something generous/humanitarian off the field.

Even if Paris Saint-Germain is necessarily in the picture, Paul Pogba is not very close to PSG today. Paris still has to act on some things, and clear its workforce before moving more concretely on its transfers.

PSG are basically trying to reduce their wages in order to be able to sign new players.

EDIT: Added Tweet with the English translation

They can sell us Marquinhos and Verratti if they want.

no matter how you see it giving out new contract JUST after the player having his worst season is sending out the wrong signal to the other players.

No, no, nooo, you have to win PL, then you can beat living daylight out of each other

Foot Mercato in France are reporting the striker’s signing has ‘shaken the Manchester City dressing room’.

The French outlet explain the numbers that have been reported in the press about Haaland’s wages have annoyed more than one in Pep Guardiola’s squad, including some described as ‘loyal’ to the Spanish manager, as they now feel ‘less valued than the new recruit and aren’t hesitating to make it known’.

This all follows the signing of Jack Grealish, with the England international reportedly paid more than the likes of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez or Bernardo Silva, especially since his output this season hasn’t been great.

There’s a feeling he’s ‘benefitted from a certain leniency’ from Guardiola ‘in the eyes of some in the squad’, and Haaland’s arrival ‘adds to this feeling’ a few games from the end of the season.

It’s also felt ‘the timing of the announcement is a matter of concern’, with Manchester City still fighting for the Premier League title.

Another ‘consequence’ from the Haaland signing is that it will ‘incite other attacking elements to look elsewhere’, with Sterling and Gabriel Jesus named specifically.

Something to keep an eye on, but it seems that while it’s an exciting time to be a Manchester City fan, the signing has ruffled a few feathers within the club.

How about Draxler, Rafinha, Icardi, Kehrer, or one of their younger players? Those are the sort of players that PSG are trying to move on. Paredes was also on their to-go list, but I don't know if that's still the case nowadays.

Or he's coming close to the end of his contract and they want to renew it because they want to keep him, rather than reward him? There's a thought.

Official: Jeremiah St. Juste joins Sporting CP on a 4-year contract.

This is a nice career move for him. He now has a chance to make a good impression in Portugal and possibly go to a bigger team. Mainz get €9.5m for him, which is a decent amount.

1. did i not just mentioned about rashford just having his worst season, so why you want to keep him? i thought woodward has gone?
2. who can guarantee he will get better after he signed the new contract?
3. his contract is going to expired in 2024 due to a 1 year extension clause.
4. we arent even sure Rashford is ETH's type of player.

SO LET'S WAIT AND SEE before we do rush thing we will only regret later. Seriously arent you the guy who told me that gary neville couldnt do anything to stop lingard from leaking stories out just because he doesnt work at the club??
