No way is Kane signing for us. Ronaldo will stay I assume regardless and we can’t afford Kane considering what work needs to be done on the midfield / defence.

Scoring goals isn’t our main problem so why spend £100 million in that department?

I've seen him play well maybe twice for United, couldn't give a bollocks how he plays for France. He's inconsistent, lacks concentration and application, absolute wrong personality to have at this club and i dare say his attitude and ego have rubbed off on some of the younger players.

Watched Ronaldo shoot at goal, standing at the halfway line while playing in the attacking midfield role, absolutey criminal lack of application, the most over rated player I've ever seen

Way too harsh on him

He has done OK for United, thing is the lack of direction at United has burnt others players that came with good reputation : Alexis Sanchez, Martial, Falcao, Mkytharian, Baily, Matic, etc...
United has been burning players reputation since SAF left, that's a fact.
A big club in shambles and not competing for silverware(due to lack of leadership, poor management, toxic environment, badly run as a club) will always destroy player's reputation, it happened exactly the same with Barcelona at the begging of 2000s.

United will keep burning good players if the situation continues.

Whilst I don’t think we should go for Kane.
We will have zero strikers after the summer with Ronaldo, Cavani and Greenwood either going or getting their contract terminated.

Martial on his way out too. We’re going to need a striker quite obviously

Alexis and Falcao were past it when they joined us. Mkhi & Martial didn't show up at other clubs either and Bailly was down to injuries. Matic was just the same as he was at Chelsea.

Its a fact we haven't really had many players whos reputation hasn't dwindled after time with us.

There's a difference saying we shouldn't spend 100M in that department and saying we don't need a striker.

There were reports we will definitely look at signing a youngish striker, I'd imagine in the region of 30-40 mil.

It may be, but that was a strange set of players to mention.
It can also be a testament to the quality of players we have bought, how many top players in their prime have we sold?

We get alot of player with clear talent and are not able to develop them into top players. That much is clear and obvious. It doesn't help the club itself is in disarray so its not really the place for top talent to flourish.

I think there is truth in both sides. Players do not kick on at United, the coaching is clearly broken

Ronaldo isn't guaranteed to stay especially if we miss out on CL for next season. I think the main domino that will have a knockon effect will be who PSG buy to replace Mbappe. They will need someone to appease the supporters. Ronaldo would make sense for PSG. The commercial interest alone in seeing Ronaldo and Messi in the same team would be gigantic.

Or maybe they try to get Mo Salah. After all he is the biggest star name in the middle east and PSG owners would probably pay him whatever he wanted to come play for them.

Qatar host the world cup in December this year, losing Mbappe to Madrid is a massive blow, they will be determined to sign a "name" to replace him even it is a short term 1-2 season signing.

PSG don't think long term, so my hunch is that one of Ronaldo/Salah/possibly Benzema (if Madrid also land Haaland) will end up there and they will also pickup Pogba on a free from us.

Poch, Kane, Rice and then one small signing. I can smell 4th place.
Kane and Rice? Just the £180m then. Never happening.

The more I think about it the more I don't want either.

Instead of spending £100M on Kane, spend it on Haaland.

Rice = McTominay - They're the same player!

I'm convinced in an alternate universe, if we had Rice and West Ham had McT, we'd all want McT.

Not way too harsh at all, can't blaming every one else for Pogba no shows, he just doesn't apply himself, often stood ball watching instead of making himself an option, he's been anonymous in a massively high percentage of games he plays.

Remind me of his wage.

Most overrated player I've witnessed, with an adoring fan club which il never understand, is it the hair dos or the silly dances that captivate you?

Kane is a brilliant footballer but you can get Nkunku and Antony for less than he’d cost both with years left at the top and their peaks ahead of them. We need to be smarter this summer both in sales and buys to get the number of players we need.

There's no need to go full 'old man shouts at cloud' on the subject of Pogba.

Agreed. The Kanes and Rices of this world are incredibly expensive dead ends and are not the way to get back to winning things.

I disagree.

Any more than 3 starters per year is either unrealistic or you've comprised on quality for quantity (which never works). Our transfer policy last summer was smart with the exception of not offloading Lingard to West Ham.

It would have been lovely to add a starting DM and an attacking RB (which we did try to do, but rightly refused to get ripped off by Atletico) but at some point you have to rely on coaching to improve the squad not just transfers.

If Greenwood hadn't been a complete nob, we probably wouldn't be as worried about the Number 9 position or Rashford's poor form.

I can't excuse the transfer business before 2021 though. That window with Amad and DVB was complete nonsense.

He's played a fair bit considering the injuries he has/the performances he's been putting out. I'm guessing he'll go to Newcastle United.

He's playing a lot, because Dortmund have so many personnel issues this season. But they intend to do a rebuild this summer and he's one of the players they want to move away from.

Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz on Andreas Pereira:
This Andreas situation will be spoken of at the right time, when we have to talk about. What you have followed and seen before, you already know. On the right day, everything will be told right. It was always told like this, all explanations of all actions are later put in what the club declares on the balance sheet. If confirmed, at the right time we will talk about it too.

Isn't it just that they've had him for free and to do so they had to pretend like they wanted to buy him for some fee that was obviously way above MV. And now that they're having to decide, it all becomes a bit nebulous. I wish the UK government could disqualify our owners, but no such luck.

For whatever reason, I can't find any Tweet referencing Memphis from Gerard, but he must have said it in his stream for it to be Tweeted/reported by multiple outlets.
