Care to provide some examples of him coming off his line and being part of the build up? As it doesn’t happen, he generally passed the ball to a defender stood on the edge of his box. Compared to his rivals it’s a very poor aspect of his game, something many coaches value greatly. As we normally play out of the back his long kicks don’t happen, so no idea where you get the idea from that they’re precise.
He's too hesitant to come out of his area, that's true. Part of it is down to his nature (which is a glaring weakness), part of it is down to the fact we defend very deep in general (again, partially an effect of DDG's nature). Doesn't mean his kicking, distribution or general foot-work is poor. He's very solid in that regard.

  • Fiorentina offer €15 million to Sassuolo.
    • Sassuolo want more money.
  • Ikoné is the alternative.
    • Agreement w/ both Lille and the player
    • Fiorentina beat Atalanta to the player.
    • All that's left is one final "okay".

PSG will meet with Poch to understand his intentions after the CL match against City. For now, neither does PSG want to move on Poch nor has Poch formally asked to leave. This is mostly based on Poch's tensions with Leonardo.

Could this be a play by Poch to oust Leonardo? Not sure how entrenched Leonardo is at PSG, but if Poch thinks he could grab more power we could be seeing a manager version of the Ramos saga from years past.

Dead serious. His distribution is not a weakness. Do you guys laughing at this have any examples of him making costly mistakes with his feet? He keeps it simple, his long kicks are precise and progressive and despite not being afraid of going short, I struggle to recall a glaring error.
Just because there are no recent mistakes that doesn’t make him comfortable with the ball at his feet

You don't find errors because he never comes off his line.

He sits back there, leaves the scary stuff to his defenders and then makes angry faces at them when that ball that floated across the 6 yard box gets knocked past him by an opposition fullback.

The Parisian perspective on this situation:
  • The process will accelerate if Poch tells the PSG leaders that he wants to leave.
    • United must also get in touch with PSG.
  • Le Parisien also report that Poch is unhappy at Paris and is unlikely to continue after this season.
  • PSG have already contacted Zidane once in recent months.
    • Zidane highlighted concerns over his strong Marseille connections; he fears the repercussions that this appointment can have on his family + relatives
  • There is no release clause on Poch.

We are going to end up with Poch who will basically do exactly the same job Solskjaer did for 3 years, Top 4 and way behind City and Liverpool plus cup runs. Meanwhile Ten Hag will take over from Guardiola and get them playing excellent football, scoring for fun and winning the league.

And I for one can't wait.

Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta on any possible January transfer activity:
We have a squad to exploit, young people who are growing up, who have to work. Now we are happy, then it is too early to say what we will need. We signed a goalkeeper from Sparta Rotterdam ten days ago. Okoye remains there on loan until June, then next season he will come here.

Levy's statement:
Player spending is no guarantee of success, and our focus must be on improved recruitment, coaching, fitness and a competitive mindset. Fabio continued the rebuild in the summer, resulting in the average age of our new summer signings being 22 years compared to the average age of 31 years for the outgoing players. We shall also look to continue the well-established path for youngsters from our Academy to our First Team. I know that Antonio’s approach is if a player is good enough, he will play, regardless of status or age.

Xhaka on what he's open to after his contract ends:
I never made the move from Borussia to Arsenal for the money; it was a dream for me to play in England. I have just extended my contract, which still has two and a half years to run. Then I’ll be 32, and if Max Eberl is willing to bring me back when I’m 32, my door will be open.
