Official: Odsonne Édouard signs for Crystal Palace from Celtic. He has signed a 4-year contract

What’s the point? He doesn’t ever play him. There can’t be a reason for Ole to block a move for a player who is the last in the pecking order?

The problem is he is not even in the pecking order is he?

Green light for a transfer from Amine Harit to Olympique Marseille! SPORT1 learned: the transfer still works out. Schalke and Marseille and the player worked together on a package. It probably amounts to a deferral of the salary.

But ...but Chelsea are the experts at completing transfers....

To be fair, seems like they agreed to one fee then upped the price at the last minute, at which point Chelsea pulled out. I think walking away is the right move, and to be honest, I was secretly hoping this deal wouldn't happen anyway.

It was a loan deal. How does loaning out our 40m signing of last year help raise funds to get a CM?

The main reason we cant sign a CM is because we havent the space to register any more players aged over 21. Money is very much a secondary issue.

I'm obviously not saying we should have loaned VdB on deadline day, that would be idiocy on top of idiocy.

Like with Lingard and Martial it should have been made crystal clear he's not in Ole's plans back in June, that he won't get many games this season, and he should have been encouraged to find a move elsewhere.

Ok. Him being talked about in some US soccer specialist bubble, or him playing for the US NT doesn't count as 'being heard from' though ;)

Agreed.

I was at the same place you are before the gold cup. I know it is a nothing tournament, and I know he plays for a non-traditional footballing nation, but he has something very rare in US football; arrogance. Not the bad kind, but the same kind Dempsey had and that is lacking in most of our footballers. He truly believes he is the best player on the field but he also worked his ass off in every game, all while playing a new position and being the best player on the pitch in the semifinal and among the top in the final. I am not saying he is going to be word class or even the best player on his team, but he will be a major contributor in a top league within a few years.

Or not. :wenger:

Official: Jeison Murillo returns to Celta Vigo on loan again, this time with a purchase option.

So that's the bet then - him moving to a bigger club (doesn't have to be a top club, but an upper table club in the top leagues) than Mallorca at some point in his career. Or him even chased by a top club, even if the move doesn't come off. Scoring at the World Cup will count too.

And what's the stake?
Let's say - if I lose, I have to watch 3 MLS games of your choosing and write a short report about it here, and you have to watch 3 BuLi games of my choosing?

Ditto.

I only said what I did as there seems to be a fallacy on here that Chelsea get everything right in the transfer market!!

Make him watch Schalke, it's only fitting.

Works for me!

I would take that bet regardless as I watch 1-2 BuLi games a week as it is (RBL and BVB of course) and besides, you should be watching FC Dallas anyways to see who your next signing will be.

I would say that is not fair compensation on both sides. So either you are super confident or have not watched enough MLS to know what you will be subjected to. But, you made the deal so best of luck.

Patrick Roberts is still contracted to City? What the feck

According to Ladislao Moñino: "I just talked to the club, Atletico Madrid, that things are getting complicated. They tell me that Saul's departure is not closed and they need Saul to leave to incorporate Griezmann."

The agreements are all in place. The complications are with the actual paperworks and getting them through on time.

EDIT: More info

Griezmann's entourage insists that he waits for news from Barça. At 13 minutes before closing, everything depends on Saúl signing with Chelsea to unlock the Griezmann and De Jong operations.
