Crotone wants €10m for Messias. He'll be a reliable depth option for Milan. He can play anywhere across the front line.

Pep on Delap & other young players:
He's going to train with us if a striker comes or doesn't come. He's going to train with us all the season. Him and Cole Palmer, [James] McAtee, [Luke] Mbete, Romeo Lavia. There are five or six players who will be with us the whole season, the same way we have done with Tommy Doyle - who is looking forward to being on loan - like Phil [Foden] when he arrived and started to play with us, he played with the second team then played with us. It's the best way to help their development because the problem in the academies today here in England, the distance between the first team competition in the Premier League and the competition they play is too big. It's really big and it's difficult to promote them from here. That's the best way with the players we believe have potential - like Sam Edozie, another guy - those guys are going to be with us.

[On interest in Delap]
Many teams want him, maybe he's the most requested player we have had since we arrived but we count on him, he's going to train with us and it depends what's going to happen this season, if he has minutes or maybe we decide on another option. But right now, Liam has to recover from his injury, still not play but after start to the train with us.

Hard to say, but I doubt he would put out those numbers Lingard did in West Ham

To be fair the last time Shaqiri and Lindgard put in any sort of minutes over a season their returns were very similar in 2017/18 and 2018/19. Shaqiri actually beat Lindgard on goals and assists but played more minutes.

I think Adama Traore is a potentially great signing for Spurs. He and Son on opposite flanks with the counter attacking style they play could be extremely effective and dangerous. If they keep hold of Kane I can see them right there with Leicester fighting in the 5th place range pushing hard for 4th.

His end product is shite and he has already missed like 3-4 sitters these first 2 games but he has looked excellent in the buildup and dominated Spurs yesterday. They’ve got Son and Kane for goals so I don’t see his finishing being a huge issue.

Atlético de Madrid has Hertha's Matheus Cunha tied for €26 million +% future sale. The Brazilian really likes Everton who has been pushing for him for days. Nothing closed yet. The rojiblancos think about it and handle other options in the room. Final decision today

Looks like Matteo's sources from Atletico are playing coy and ensuring that they have an out in case Matheus Cunha has his head turned.

All this "highest paid player of all time" bit that keeps being mentioned is so redundant. It's the evolution of wages. In any case, thank fukc for Southampton that they kept him. They need new owners sharpish.

  • Lingard valued at £25m
    • No club expected to offer near that amount
    • West Ham still interested
  • Dalot has no clarification over his future despite being very likely to stay.

More info on the Adama-Spurs link:

  • Adama has 2 years left but has yet to extend his contract.
  • Transfer options
    • Wolves may allow Adama to leave on loan with a purchase obligation.
    • Wolves may also accept staggered payments from Spurs like what they got for Diogo Jota.
  • Wolves rejected Spurs' loan + purchase option offer (loan fee: £5m)
  • Tottenham looking to sell both Ndombele and Aurier
