All that remains for Brentford is an agreement with Cajuste.

@el diablorojo

Yeah nothing new here really - the fee between the clubs never been an issue (especially as Benham owns Brentford and is the majority stakeholder at FCM), the issue has always been the personal terms. Looks like Rennes were prepared to offer a more attractive offer than we are. It's certainly not a done deal yet according to those who would know but doesn't mean it won't get done either.

Ah, so this could be why Chelsea are feeling encouraged:

Lukaku: Pastorello [Lukaku's agent] pushes for yes to Chelsea . Inter : “Let's wait for Romelu to say it, otherwise for us it is no." Very hot situation.

Chelsea's strong relationship with Pastorello's playing a big part here.

This is a player with over 100 PL goals already in his career.

People like to pick and choose when they decide aesthetics and first touch are the most important thing in the world. Lukaku is no Berbatov, but unfortunately for Berbatov, he was also no Lukaku - otherwise he may have actually been a very top striker. Lukaku scores goals, and goals are worth a lot of money on the market.

But he doesn’t score in the big games, he hardly scores against the good teams for either Everton, United, Inter and Belgium - and that’s the reason why Lukaku too is not a top striker. Enjoy him scoring 3-0 against Lecce, Finland or Swansea, but he won’t score many against Chelsea, Italy or.. Barcelona in the CL. You could basically play a cone up front, it has a better first touch.

Rule A3:

Basically, don't hide any of the details in the transfer when reporting this to the FA. Brighton got in trouble for this previously with Dale Stephens's transfer. Back then, they were fined 90k Pounds. We'll see what happens this time.

@The Boy Thoughts?

Wonder does it have anything to do with all the nonsense around Moises Caicedo?
EDIT: Between 2015 and 2018, so no.

Lukaku has one goal every 168 min in the PL. Berbatov had one goal every 186 min. I bet, if Lukaku ever return to the PL and plays there to the age of 33/34, he will be closer to one goal every 186 min himself.

Berbatov played a lot as a second striker. And he could actually play football.

It doesn't. The breaches pertain to their transfer activities from January 2015 to January 2018. This would also exclude the rest of their South American transfer activity.

Well that is of course true when you remove all the goals he has scored against good teams or in big games, I’ll concede that.

Lukaku, had he not left the PL, was well on his way to retiring with 200+ goals.

I’ve said before and I’ll say again, Lukaku will likely retire with more than 400 career goals and as his country’s all time leading goalscorer with this nonsense still raging on as to whether he is actually any good or not. BS nitpicking because people cannot take to him.

Not too worried, we discovered this and self reported this to the FA in 2019 and have cooperated with them ever since, it relates to transfers between 2015 and 2018. The FA then launched an investigation once we had told them about it and this is the result. We're calling it historical administrative errors!

Interesting. Thanks for the background. I'm just curious about the FA not mentioning Brighton's cooperation, but it's fine. I guess that'll help Brighton to get away from a worse sanction whilst the appropriate intermediaries will be the ones in major trouble.

For saying a bad source is a bad source?
Nah the sourcing is fine, and everyone can do what they want with that. They are just a dumpster fire of a subreddit filled with kneejerk reactions, while simultaneously being unable to criticize any player

The club statement

The club is aware of a statement by the FA of today's date relating to a charge against the club for breaches of the Regulations on Working with Intermediaries between 2015 and 2018.

Following an internal review in 2019, Brighton & Hove Albion identified and self-reported to the FA a limited number of historical administrative errors relating to the processing of paperwork for intermediaries between 2015 and 2018.

The club has openly co-operated with The FA throughout since initially raising the issue with them, and will continue to do so.

Yeah, that's all good. I was just curious about why the FA would omit that cooperation part from their own statement, but as I mentioned earlier, it's not a problem.

I guess maybe limited characters in a tweet. Also it doesn't sound as cool if you add it in!

I'm much more interested in how Livramento ended up at Southampton and not with us, he's a top signing.

Southampton were more willing to include a buyback clause in Livramento's contract, and that was apparently the deal breaker.

I wonder if Spurs will have the same problems getting Romero into the country as we are having with Varane? Indeed is anybody else having these problems importing players from Europe?

This is a football club, not an athletics club. We need players who know how to control a ball. That disqualified Lukaku and please never mention him in the same sentence as Berbatov because that's an offense against the sport of football.

I loved Berba as much as anyone, but Lukaku is clearly a better striker.

Get rid of Bruno and bring in Ozil while you’re at it.

Kane's going to have to deal with all of the flak no matter what happens.

Don't see a point of going back to training now. The damage is already done, can't just pull half measures. Might as well just keep refusing to train at this point

If I compare them in their peak years, Berba is the better striker out of the two. What makes them different from one another is that Lukaku's ceiling of ambitions is far greater than Berba's. His fitness work will make him stay at the top for longer.

Love how everything is against United with our fans as if literally everyone including the British government will do anything to cause us problems. Absolutely ridiculous and smacks of entitlement and arrogance from our fanbase.:lol:

No there isn’t an “only man utd” issue when it comes to Visa’s. It affects every club, it’ll only be even difficult because of Brexit and COVID. You’re only seeing more issues because you look at more Man Utd news than other clubs.

Jesus christ this forum is mad at times.

It says that Romero is joining Tottenham
Atalanta would have had to redeem all rights from Juventus in order to then sell the player as he was still on loan from Juventus. It looks like that may have been sorted out behind the scenes, which is why Atalanta are now able to sell the player.

Despite his goals: he's a roided up donkey with the touch of a landmine. Chelsea are welcome to him as far as I'm concerned.

Lukaku is far better than Martial. Fact. Now can we please get back to transfer tweets.

Oh thanks!

The transfer dominoes linked to Chelsea's striker situation:

  • Duvan Zapata (Atalanta) and Joaquín Correa (Lazio) are atop of Inter's wishlist should Lukaku leave.
  • Tammy Abraham could go to Atalanta and allow them to sell Zapata to Inter.
  • Inter's wing back options:
    • Nahitan Nández
    • Héctor Bellerín
    • Marcos Alonso
    • Emerson Palmieri
    • Less likely options
      • Denzel Dumfries
      • Davide Zappacosta

Could just as easily be read as our own incompetence, which is how i read it.

Thats quite different from the arrogance and entitlement blaming others for our problems, which you read from it.

It's more paranoia than arrogance or entitlement, United are after all the most hated team in the country.

For those wondering how much we'd get off of a potential Lukaku sale:

This is according to what was in Matt Law's article, which states that United have a 4-5% sell-on clause in Lukaku's contract. 4% of 120 million Euros = 4.8 million Euros
