I never expected him to be linked to Bayern as a right back option, but here we are.

Yes and he played 2 strikers. I'm fully aware of what Sir Alex did, but Ole 2021 isn't the same thing.

Martial and Greenwood are about as positionally fluid as Rooney. They can both get games without playing center forward.

Why not? Pavard is a CB and Bouna Sarr hasn't been what they wanted him to be, despite being a punt. Probably not the right age profile for us, but he could be a good option as competition for Wan-Bissaka.

geebs, Damo, can we have threadbans for people who complain about the Fridge?
Get a grip, people are entitled to have an opinion on what they themselves deem as interesting or relevant transfer news.

If you turn on BBC news do you expect to hear about the weather in South America?

Some of us have limited access to the thread during working hours and spending most of that scrolling through lower league transfers (that no news outlets bother with for a good reason - nobody cares) is less than helpful for our muppet fix.

I'm here for transfer news, I don't want to read moaning from posters who can't simply look past the lower league tweets that Fridge posts or put him on ignore so they don't see that content so perhaps you can get grip?

No fecking way are we going through the Fridge Chutney thing again.

Every. Single. Summer.

I'm basing this on Ridle Baku's profile. He's a very, very attacking right back, so much so that Wolfsburg have played him as a right winger (ahead of another attacking full back in Kevin Mbabu) as often as they've played him at right back. In the first half of the season, they played him at right back and kept only 2 clean sheets (not necessarily because of him). Since switching him to right wing, they only failed to keep a clean sheet in 6 matches in the 2nd half of the season (one appearance as a right back against Stuttgart in the meantime). Personally, every time I've watched Wolfsburg, I've seen Baku play at right wing, and they looked way more balanced him with him there. When I watched some of Mainz's matches last season, he was very good going forward at right back but a defensive problem otherwise.

If Bayern can cover the right flank with Baku going forward, then they should be fine. However, we've seen how they've struggled, defensively, regardless of whether they had Pavard or Süle there. With Nagelsmann, I'm not sure if they'll be secure enough on the right side, especially since his RB Leipzig have that as their weakest link, defensively.

In our case, he'll basically be a better version of Dalot; fans will instantly scrutinise his defensive issues just as they did with Dalot. Personally, I'd be okay with that given that I find Baku to be better going forward than Dalot, but we also don't have our right wingers track back and offer defensive support, so...

Funny how the people moaning never post a tweet themselves.
Honestly, I got started with posting Tweets because I was finding the Tweets thread to be boring. Now, I find myself to be more caught up with what goes on not only in football but all around me (in terms of current events, trends, etc.). The only downside is having to deal with the rest of the crap thrown up by Twitter.

Anyways,

Yeah point taken on putting him on ignore but at the same time I don't like putting people on ignore if they haven't been abusive.

Thing is, you don't like skipping moaning posters, but those moaning posters don't like skipping stuff they don't feel is really relevant.

I suppose peeps can just put him on ignore so it's a pointless argument. Perhaps there could be a thread for top tier leagues (where most peoples interest lies) and then one for sub leagues.

The easiest solution for everyone is to put Fridge on ignore for the duration of the transfer window if the tweets he posts aren't your fancy.

Problem is , I want to see his other posts. Do we have an option just to ignore someone in this thread ?

Oh get over yourself. Take it elsewhere or simply await your answer. You must be 5 posts into derailing the thread and complaining about others derailing it.

Why do you insist replying then? At least Ruck is open to discussing rather than wading in as you have. I'll repeat it for your benefit; kindly feck off.

I don't really use the ignore function but I know posts from an ignored user always have a link to show the ignored content but I'm not sure if it takes the poster off ignore everywhere. Perhaps a mod can confirm.

When you think about it though, should 90% of the forum need to put him on ignore?

That can’t exactly be a nice experience for him either.

Let’s leave it there though, the messiah has spoken on this, I don’t wanna rack up my ban count

He’s here, it’s in the rules that @Damien literally put in this thread today. Any moaners who don’t understand rules will be removed. Scroll past if you don’t like it

I could easily see Ings at United and Kane at City. Sounds about right to be honest.

Nah with our luck we’ll sign Kane and they will
Sign Ings and we will come out worse some how

Kane out injured all season after a few games with Ings winning the golden boot

Kane continues to stink Old Trafford out while picking up his portly 450k a week wages until Inter Milan finally put us out of our misery 2 and a half years later as we offload him for free and promise to pay half his wages until the day he dies.

Here here. In fact how about a United related only tweet page. I've limited to zero interest looking at tweets about who Southampton etc might sign.

In danish FC Nordsjælland plays a winger called Sulemana. He is 19 and from Ghana. According to Sulemana himself his agents talks with Ajax and Manchester United about a transfer. Sulemana is a huge talent, and I see him as better than Diallo, so I cross my fingers. The only source in english I have found is this one, but I read about in several danish papers. https://www.footballinsider247.com/man-united-sulemana-talks-bid-ajax/

This is the player:

Fergie always had 4 strikers in his squad and none of the 4 here are guaranteed starters every week either duty to injury or inexperience.

Yes, but we were playing two up front or Sheringham behind, a bit different having 4 strikers for two positions than 4 strikers for one position, really don think we need more options, its more a case of whether we want to improve the consistent quality that we have currently from our options in terms of fitness, age young and old and consistent form and goal scoring. I like Ings and think he is a good finisher.....would he improve the quality though?

EDIT: In my view, I don't think this'll go too far unless Spurs drop their asking price, which will require Kane to basically hand in a transfer request.

Yes as much as City have spent, they havent on one player. Consistently see Guardiola talking about big players and fees he wouldnt sign as against the clubs ethos, I just cant picture him in a City shirt either for some reason

Then this isn't the thread for you? If United get seriously linked to anyone, they will get their own dedicated thread on here.

I've been following the transfer thread in the forum for years, and never understood the ones who moan & whine about Fridge's tweets, i mean u can just scroll past it, problem solved.

to be on topic

i think they'll need to replace Aguero, if we assume Fernandinho extends, then the only position they'll need to strengthen is CF, their squad is stacked and they don't need to bring anyone apart from Kane, so we can't rule out them paying100m+ for Kane

He's much to offensive to be a stable RB. He's mostly played RM this season and has stepped into RB when Mbabu want available.

I also have no interest in reading threads with posters writing 'happy Sancho day'.
Is it too much to ask to have a united only tweets thread? No commentary, just tweets regarding potential united signings. Could have sworn this was a united forum.
