Benfica fans seem quite happy that he is leaving.

Yeah, from what I've read, he wasn't good for Benfica. The fact that only Newcastle United were linked to him before this (amongst Premier League clubs) tells me all that I need to know.

I'm a little disturbed.

FYI, the Tweet shows up in the Transfer Tweets feed when it shouldn't (according to the rules in the OP). Putting the Tweet inside a quote/spoiler should take it out of feed, so feel free to edit your post whenever you can.

"Chelsea to bid for Saul Niguez"

None of the more reliable outlets have reported anything about Saúl. I guess all of the teams are mainly focusing on other targets at this time before they'd focus on the midfield. So far, though, there haven't been any movements, not even from Chelsea.

Aren’t Wiilian and Luiz on their way out as well? Looks like a big chunk of their wage bill gone with Ozil going as well
Yeah, I forgot that those two already left along with Özil. In that case, Ben White will be one significant signing, and Albert Sambi Lokonga will be the other (to replace Xhaka). Let's see what their other signings will be.
Didn’t Willian sign a 2 year deal at Arsenal? Should still have another year left no?

So Romano poured some cold water on the Camavinga reports
If anyone's curious, Romano talked to The United Stand about the recent United links. The video:

From my perspective, he fully corroborates what Bouhafsi said but mentions on top of that there's nothing advanced at this time, which is also true. That makes sense given that our current budget was mainly established for one new attacking player and one new defender. Other signings will depend on whether United can sell more players.

He is 21 and has half a season of top flight football where he was decent but not extraordinary. In any case, he is not a Saka or Greenwood level player where you have to keep him at all costs.

His story has played out at Arsenal many times, where fans get excited about a 20-21 year old playing decent football and don't sell when their value is high. Coquelin, Gibbs, Ox, Coquelin, Wilshere, Walcott, Bendtner; the list is very long.

All driven by emotion and not rational thinking.

Kai Havertz at the same age as ESR went for 70m and he had played more than 100 top flight games and for Germany.

ESR for 50/60m would be a complete ripoff.
We need him, we don't want him to leave, he doesn't want to leave, he is an Arsenal boy, an english attacking midfielder and has another 2 years on his contract.
50M is very far from a rip off, nothing emotional about that. Your rationnal thinking leaves us playing El Neny as a #10, 30M in our hands having to now buy at least 2 AM.
Havertz is a lot better even though he had quite a sh*t start on the PL and Villa just bought Buendia for 40M. I'd bet my house ESR renew in the coming month while Villa sell Grealish.

The links started a few days ago, by the way, but I guess they offered terms that Barcelona were asking for all this time. Milan, in contrast, wanted a loan with a purchase option, which Barcelona weren't keen on.

EDIT: Milan will continue to look for a left back on loan for next season. That's always their plan.

Fecking skint Italians not interested in any deal that isn’t a loan.

How many players are Barcelona shipping out?

If Arsenal are planning to make "4-5 significant signings", then I wonder who they'll put up for sale to be able to make those signings. Xhaka's definitely one of them as well as Mavropanos, but I wonder if there will be more.

Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Torriera, Maitland-Niles, Nketiah, perhaps Bellerin & Willock.

Translation - BVB and Man United are now in agreement on the Sancho transfer fee!

35m (+ addons ) less than what was asked last season. Great deal for us.

The only thing left (according to Sport Witness's summary) is the method and structure of the payments, including the criteria for the bonuses. We're getting very close to an official announcement.

Yeah, that seems reasonable. Whether they'll get enough money to make up for some of the big fees that they might have to pay is another matter altogether.

That's all well and good but it does not make Villa's bids laughable.

any time a team makes 4-5 significant signings they usually start off well and everyone says wow they’ve really sorted themselves out, is this their year? Then they hit a snag and fall apart because there is no team, just a disparate bunch of talented guys who don’t really know each other or each other’s games that well and loads of new characters for the manager to get a handle on…

It takes ages to build a proper core and Arsenal are all over the shop. Say Ben White for example. He’s used to playing in a 5 in teams that probably don’t expect to win every game. If he has some consecutive bad games in a four he’ll get ripped to shreds and the average player who they overpaid for talk begins and that’s pretty much that for him. Is he going to be their leader at the back now?

I'd imagine we'll spend between £50M - £100M net. What we take in from sales will likely dictate how far down the lists we have to go....cant say I'm overly excited about some of the names in that article.
