Villa are fully trolling Arsenal at this stage.
Taken their keeper and left them with a far inferior one, pipped them to Buendia and now throwing in bids for their bright young talent. They should move for Neves or Bissouma next just to keep the foot on their throat.
Trippier isn't worth anything close to 40m.
I know they've money and have spent loads in the past but with the types of players they are I'd be surprised if they signed Buendia & ESR or someone similar and Grealish was still there come the end of the window, especially with City seemingly after him.

The interesting part is that you would assume Villa would only make an official offer when they got some encouragement from Smith-Rowe which is surprising given he is a starter for Arsenal.

It's not excuses for Pogba. It's just stating the fact that he needs a lot of structure and support around him to see the very best of him. He's done it at United more times than enough, but the support around him as rarely been top quality compared to Juve and obviously France.
Pogba cannot do the two way job Fred or McTominay does, or else he would start every single match in central midfield. Pogba just doesn't have the energy, awareness, or mentality to play in a midfield two. He needs that 3rd CM and proper flank player to support him. He played a lot more on the left and moved Rashford to the right because it was better for the team. That wasn't the case during the EL Final because Fred was injured so it had to change.
I find it odd that this is often overlooked yet he gets the flak??
Which no one should really be arguing with really, we're unfortunately hamstrung by being a "normal" club so it stands to reason why we can't be throwing stupid money about.
Don't think ESR is looking at Villa with stars in his eyes. It's either Villa getting cocky for no reason or a little plot to get 10k more pw which is fair enough if we're trying to be cheap about that renewal.
Most likely Smith Rowe trying to get a better deal at Arsenal, but his agent definitely told Villa that he is interested, otherwise they wouldn't have submitted an offer. Unlikely anything to do with Villa getting cocky.

Agent driven imo, ESR is on the verge of signing a new deal. Even Saka was dilly dallying last year before committing himself. Its the new reality, everyone squeezes for every bit.

Yep, he's young, knows his massive value to us, saw absolute nobodies drain hundreds of thousands from the club. Why not give it a little nudge. He deserves it anyway. From a Villa pov, that just make them look stupid and ignite more rumours that Grealish is off and does nothing to get them more money when he inevitably does.

Anyone get the feeling that the football transfer market has shrugged off the COVID doldrums and is back to where it was pre-COVID? United in for Sancho + CB (120-140M probably), Arsenal looking to splash out a bit (midfielder + CB by the looks of it), Chelsea in for Hakimi and Haaland? City likewise for Kane + Grealish, Villa, Brighton have had fairly big money moves etc.
There are still question marks - Pool have been pretty quiet, Bayern are saying they won't do any expensive business this year, Barca going the free transfer / youth route, RM very quiet as well.

I think 50 would get him, Nrighton have been very open about how much they value both him and Bissouma. A good euros may get it to 60!

He doesn't need the odd game. He desperately needs to play regularly.
I genuinely believe that White would make a better CDM than Rice and much cheaper at 50m as well as being versatile enough to play CB in a 3,4 or 5 or CDM.
