I thought his agent came out last month and said we've reassured him he's staying? Hopefully this doesn't mean we've decided to keep Lingard instead, neither are good enough.
He started off alright, but he struggled to fit into the team. He wasn't as much of a wide threat as Rebic and Saelemaekers were, and he wasn't as aggressive as Calhanoglu was as a #10. At that time, he didn't really have a place in the squad, but I didn't think that'd continue after Milan let go of Bonaventura. He's still young and has room for development; I think Milan are only doing this as Milenkovic would strengthen their back line and Paqueta doesn't fit into Pioli's plans at this time.
With Pereira on his way out, Chong potentially going on loan and another player or two leaving from our midfield & wide positions, we surely must be in for one more player in one of those roles to increase depth.
We'll probably keep one anyway for depth, we might not be able to offload both in one summer.
So yesterday someone says we are putting all other endeavours on hold til we resolve Sancho situation.
And yet today someone else says we are now looking at all other endeavours.
Basically no-one expect Woodward and Ole knows what is going on!

I agree that there are many overrated english goalkeepers - but its strange that so many English internationals basically have their career ended by the time they are 30 years old - when they should be at their best.
Rob Greens career was basically over at the time he was 30-31 - he was then regularly playing at the bottom of the P.L or in the Championship
Tim Flowers more or less the same - at the age of 31 he got relegated with Blackburn - he went to mid-table Leicester and was never a regular
Ian Walker left Spurs at 30 to join Leicester and got relegated in the first season
Jack Butland as mentioned at the age of 27 looks to be past it
Fraser Forster highly rated in his mid 20s - and things fell apart for him when he left Celtic. He is now just 32
Scott Carson was highly rated when he joined Liverpool - when he left WBA 26 years old to join Bursaspor, you knew it wasn't to be
Paul Robinson highly rated when he joined Spurs - and at the age of 27-28 his form dipped horribly both for England and Spurs - and he joined Blackburn Rovers
Chris Kirkland another highly rated keeper - but he struggled with injuries and left Liverpool at the age of 25 to join Wigan.
Joe Hart played regularly for City for 8 seasons - but his form dipped horribly at the age of 27-28 - and his career at the highest level was practically over after that.
So basically the only England goalkeeper who had a long career after Seaman, was David James.
Add Ben Foster to that list. He chose to retire early when he wasn't being selected to start for England.

Let me break this tweet down for you. TransferPodcast is a podcast by my best guess. Probably a couple of blokes talking over the internet and one of them pipes up and says, "if United don't get Sancho, they could just re-allocate those funds to strengthen the rest of the squad". Totally opinionated statement plucked out of thin air. Then, United Zone fan channels hears that and tweets it. It's then posted in this thread where countless members of the caf go into meltdown.
Not saying you're melting down. Just agreeing, none of these internet bullshitters or self proclaimed ITK transfer sources know a damn thing.

This is great news. I don't hate the kid it's just clear as day that he's not up to it at United.
I guess if he handed-in a transfer request then that might bridge the gap between what Roma are offering and what we are asking for? If he really wants to make the move I mean.
Neither do I but I hate the fact that 3 coaches later when they all failed to see anything special about the kid, we hung on to him when he could have had regular football elsewhere
I think there is enough potential in Andreas to be a squad player, he occasionally brings out some magic. But Lingard has past his sell by date here.
Young players should have potential to be starters not potential to be squad players. He's 24, not good enough, not improving time to move him.
Completely agree. I don’t see the potential to be a squad player anyway, he seems like the sort who needs regular football and won’t fare well making sub appearances or a start here and there.
Pereira is a really poor player with no stand-out attributes so expect a £20m bid from us next week.

I love the self-reflection. But do you believe Everton could have the ability to actually challenge one day if certain steps were taken over years? Or would you need a sugardaddy of some sorts for a chance of that to happen?
My hometown team plays in the third highest division in Norway, they will never challenge at the highest, cause even with a (small-time) sugar-daddy they never got higher than staying in the second highest division for a while and now going back and forth. At least he established them above 4th.
But I love em and will watch matches when I can (hard to find streams of this level outside of Norway). So I'm just curious.
While you mentioned the scenarios of City & Chelsea, you conveniently overlooked the fact that their squad didn’t need as many outgoings as ours needs. It is obviously clear we need to get rid of our deadwood, or at least some of it to bring in other players.
Also, the club doesn’t have fans believing Greenwood can do the job. They did have the fans believe that during current season where he was preferred over James and rightly so. But going forward it’s clear we’re working on the sancho deal or at least trying to. For any reason if that doesn’t work we’ll surely bring in an alternative.
We also need more incomings but mostly squad options. City rushed to sign a CB cuz they were seriously short in that department and didn’t first need to get rid of some of their 7 CBs. Chelsea signed players because they were long overdue after a transfer ban.
We can panic as much as we want but we need to move on some of our deadwood before we can rush any new signings. And I’m all for that because for some reason we have a tough time moving them on but enough is enough and we first need to trim our squad and wage bill.
My issue isn’t with our club making fans believe players like Greenwood diminish the right for more signings. It’s with making our fans believe that our deadwood isn’t really deadwood and well just stick to them if we can’t move them on. Just like we took a huge loss on Sanchez but moved him on, we need to do the same with players like Rojo & Lingard for starters who are on stupid wages which they don’t even deserve. Doesn’t matter if we have to accept unrealistic offers for them. Until we don’t move them on we’ll never be able to just go out and buy players ahead of time. It’ll only make us weaker in the transfer market in the future and clubs will then want our deadwood to be paid for to leave instead of maybe taking them at low values or no value as of now.
He doesn't fit in there. He is 37 and has been a consistently good keeper for years.
He is well under contract isn't he? Maybe extended last year?

And in fairness, how often do keepers ever really get displaced at top clubs? If he stayed here he'd only have cup competitions at most to try and displace de Gea. He's more relying on de Gea to become bad to the point he has to be replaced.
