People often look only at the transfer fee and consider signing free release players as "bargains".
But that s only half of the story.

Info RMC Sport: Etienne Capoue has found an agreement with Villareal. Watford and the Spanish club are finalising the transfer. 2.5-year contract for the former Toulouse player. He is expected in the next few hours in Spain.

According to the Ecuadorian media, we've sorted everything out on our end, and we apparently have a contract signing and medical scheduled with Caicedo. The club, I'm guessing, might have to wrap up things on their end before this finishes up.

He’s obviously been great for them but I do slightly wonder if he should be careful about rushing away from Liverpool and more importantly, Klopp. There’s not a massive amount in his career to suggest that this would be his consistent level if he wasn’t playing under Klopp and in this system. Perhaps I’m being unfair but I could see him pitching up at the likes of Barca and not making a massive impression.

I agree but he might just fancy a new challenge and a big pay day.

Which would be fair enough. I just think he’s playing the best football of his career and he’s very likely to be in the hunt for trophies every season for the next couple at least. I don’t see an obvious move that, money aside, will give him that.

I hope they bake a massive batch of humble pie, call Ed asking if we are still interested in spending all that cash on Sancho only for Ed to recline in his chair, puff a long drag on his pipe before replying ‘don’t you just love to see it’ and letting out an awkwardly long and loud fake laugh before slamming the phone down.
