So this tweet was a load of bollocks then.
The Tweet itself is vague, but the issue was the timing of the contract's submission, not anything in it. Roma, however, claimed via a brief that the contract was submitted just in time.

we seem to have this mental block against loaning out players that we can't sell. How the decision makers think paying a players salary who will get minimal or no games helps their resale value, I do not know.

Didn't we just loan out Pereira and Dalot?

Smalling was on loan last season as well wasn't he?

It was too much money at this moment in time. Dortmund are moaning but they must have known they likely wouldn't get that money in the current climate.
Exactly. Not like they left any wiggle room post-Covid. Plus, if everything was agreed with the player and his reps, shouldn’t they be more bemused/put-off with Dortmund’s behaviour.

Senseless journalism.

Romero gets paid handsomely for his job , sorry but I have no sympathy for him

Yes how dare he want to play games. Maybe he actually loves football and wants to play some games before he has to retire. If he wasnt informed that he would be number three this season I can understand his frustration.

No he is getting handsomely paid to not do his job. He might actually be taking a pay cut to go. He will be wanting to play, now he isn't even being played in cup competitions to then be replaced by Ole's boy DDG.

If it stays like this, then honestly our worst transfer window in a very long time.

Jones, Lingard, Rojo, Romero all still at the club. Dalot + Perreira loaned rather than sold.

Two biggest issues (CB and RW) STILL not fixed. Its been years now.

And what are we given to celebrate? A 33 year old striker whose previous club let him go on a free in a "Farmers League". Telles who will offer "competition" for left back and a good player in VDB.

Sigh.

We at least have options at CB but the RW situation just makes me absolutely furious to say the least

Why do we need both of them? One of them would be perfectly fine, but why both?

They are just kids and relative punts. Get a couple in and hope one of them pays off in two or three years.

Nothing necessarily wrong with that, if you're doing it from a position of strength, but we're now in the position of having to play Lingard and James in numerous games on the right wing this season, which is less than ideal.

A little bit sad to see Chris Smalling leave the club permanently a little part of me though he would come back and retain his centre back position

Manchester United have reached an agreement with AS Roma for the transfer of defender Chris Smalling.
The centre-back was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2010 from Fulham, and went on to make 323 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals.
