Herrera was that friend. They would grab a meal outside of football.
I can imagine how it went
Ander: I’ll pay for this Alexis, welcome to Manchester.
Alexis:No no no I’m getting £300K a week I’ll get it what’s your wage pal?
Ander: €150K
With that he slams the Estrella on the table and walks out of restaurant to get the bus home.

It's funny that you mention this but during an interview, Herrera mentioned that Sanchez would pay for lunch because he made the big bucks.

When you consider all aspects of the Sanchez transfer:

- Profile of player
- Profile / publicity of transfer worldwide
- Salary being a record-breaker
- Impact

Alexis Sanchez to Man United is the single worst transfer in football history. I refuse to believe there's a worse one out there, to date.

Get rid at all costs. Rectify the mistake, learn from it, and don't repeat it.
Fernando Torres to Chelsea is worse IMO. Everyone (including myself) thought he would hit the ground running and score loads, but he was useless from day one. That open goal miss vs United is damn near iconic, as it ended up summing up his Chelsea career.

He contributed to silverware despite his fall from grace. He also had a 20 goal season albeit with some stat padding against European fodder. Sánchez had a good 45mins against City.

This is what I mean - with even the terrible trasnfers such as Torres to Chelsea, there's at least a sliver of positivity you can remember.

All I remember when I think of Sanchez at United is him coming off the bench, and proceeding to 'run' to the touch line, cut back onto his right foot at a snail's pace, and attempt a shin-height pass towards the penalty spot that is easily cleared by the first defender......around eight times per appearance.

I don't even remember the half against City, to be honest. In my recollection, he was above-average and given his form either side of those 45mins, it was lauded way above what it was truly worth.

At least Chelsea fans have the fond memory of Torres scoring against Barca. What the feck do we have for Sanchez? A goal against Arsenal? His last minute winner against the titans Newcastle United?

Our physios will have very fond memories of him

No wonder some players kicked up a fuss. The fecker was playing shite, was getting paid the most and still flexing in front of team mates.

Edin Dzeko extends his contract with AS Roma until 2022

4 possible PLAN B for Inter (Dzeko was Conte's first choice as 4th striker): Alexis Sanchez, Rebic, Llorente and Milik

Here we go, the talking point that will continue the entire season. Jadon Sancho.

If we qualify for the CL, expect the club to break our transfer record to price out Manchester City. This will be Ole's priority target.

So being nice and offering to pay for a meal is flexing? Christ, ya can’t do anything nice these days. If he didn’t offer, he would be seen as being tight as he earns most money etc.

I suppose if he comes on next few matches and scores, people will complain he’s just showing off!

Sarcasm is hard to grasp these days.

Is this another example of whatever he does people will find fault with it? Much like Lingard fashion giveaway.

I’m not his biggest fan but I just don’t see paying for dinner because I have the most money as anything sinister. Sure he gets paid loads for doing not very much but anyone who tells me they would turn down a contract that huge and I’m calling BS. Everybody is screaming that it serves Real right that Bale is refusing to move but Sanchez is only fulfilling his contract the same but you don’t like it.

If he saved some puppies from drowning I’m sure some of you would find fault with it...
