No, not you. The journalist is.

This. There won’t be any swap deals with Juve since we’re sticking to our valuation of Lukaku and they have no money left. The only asset they had with equal value doesn’t want to come and we’re not going to negotiate a 2 for 1 swap deal with 4 days left. It’s Inter or nothing for Lukaku.People saying they’d take a certain player in plus money. The whole idea of them swapping Dybala is because they don’t have the money. And there’s some dreadful swap ideas being thrown about.
Matuidi and Mandzukic value is no way near Lukaku’s. The deal with Juve is dead.
Mentioning Tevez ruins your entire argument, he was sent out to west ham of all clubs the season they got relegated and he followed the money all through his career.
I think it's pretty lazy to say signing Dybala would turn out like Di Maria. I agree with the decision to not pursue him if he doesn't want to come, but if we did there's a possibility that he'd still be a professional with us and not be a total arse like Di Maria. We don't know if Dybala's personality is the same as Di Maria.
box to box I thoughtIs he a playmaking #8?
No issue with us walking away from Dybala deal. We need players who are completely committed, and I don't really feel he's an absolutely incredible player you lose your balls for. Prioritize midfield as much as possible right now and go for a striker and Sancho next summer (and what we cant do for midfield now).
The disappointing thing is that we've left everything so late. Given our attack is weak, James is our only addition.
Maybe it's me but it doesn't seem appropriate to use the nationality as if it was relevant to the point. I have seen journalists do that a lot in the last days and I'm wondering if they are oblivious to the way it reads.
Been thinking the same. It's not even subtle with some of the pieces calling out being South American as a whole as the issue.Maybe it's me but it doesn't seem appropriate to use the nationality as if it was relevant to the point. I agree and also no one seems to be picking up on that he is effectively a cast of players. If he's not good enough for any team he`s not good enough for MU. He may be a decent player but has he got a good attitude which is just as important. We`ve seen what attitude can do last season at mu.True. But big, big wage demands and agent demands combined with a lot of uncertainty if he wants to come is not a good start. It would be a major gamble in wages like that.
What has the end of his career got to do with his peak years? Zabaleta ended his career at West Ham, does that make his career at Man City any less succesful?
What a bizarre argument! Tevez was a crucial part of the best year in club history since 1999. He was a key player for Man City as they started winning silveware. If anything, you failed to provide any evidence of 'South Americans generally do not fancy PL' whereas I just cited 5 of them who were hugely successful in recent years.
Yeah, I mean he'd have been a good addition for sure. But I don't think he's absurdly good or anything. Like you say, he's no Hazard, or the player people hope Sancho can become one day.Dybala of 4 years ago was supposed to be the next big thing but I don't think he ever developed into the world class player that he was expected to develop into. He's a tier or two below that.
I was asking this question yesterday and got the same answers, he is not someone who can single handedly lift an attack like Hazard. He is obviously better than what we have (so was Mata, so was di Maria, so was Falcao) but considering he is literally being pushed here and the amount of money he is asking for, it actually makes sense to move away and invest that money on someone who actually wants to be here and relishes the challenge of getting us back where we belong.

Hopefully we get in a signing or two over the line yet but if this is what we have then let's get on with it. People forget we have spent 145 million (dollars) this summer.
With the window almost over, we missed a big chance in closing the gap on spurs & chelsea.
I think Arsenal is not that far from us.
Need atleast a quality CM.
In an ideal world we'd also need a RW/ST.
We'll have enough time to ship out some deadwood our window closes.
At least we’re not the ones trying to get rid of Dybala, Mandzukic, Kean and Cancelo and replace them with Danilo and Lukaku. Weird move from Juve, even if I don’t think Kean and Cancelo are as good as many seem to think.
You should have added Dybala and Mandzukic. No one is dumb enough to get rid of the players if s/he considers them great.

They just won’t let it go. We’ve briefed multiple times that we aren’t interested, his agent/management team are a disgrace. I hope nobody goes for him and he has a wank season.
