I can’t see that Dybala is what we need, but it’s hard to pass up on players of that quality. Would make more sense if we didn’t re sign Mata. I would favour a pure right winger and defensive midfielder.

Hes better than Fernandes but id take 60-70 + Manzukic and spend the cash on Fernandes of he’s crying about moving.

Think we gave a new contract to Mata to encourage De Gea to sign his.

Those South Americans play for a club consistently challenging for every major trophy under an adored manager of their generation. Its a different sell to us who right now, just have the statute of our history and an exciting rebuild project to sell (which becomes tricker to sell when you start again every 2 years for the last 7)
Not necessarily. Aguero joined City when they were a nothing club and he seemed to do just fine, he surely didn't join because he dreamed of playing for them, the offer was probably too good to reject. However it didn't stop him becoming probably the best City player ever. I will say again, not every player is like Di Maria and even him, I think some of the criticism is undeserved. He started very well but the main issue was the manager, Di Maria was a completely different player than LVG's "philosophy" requires.

He is South American. His family probably supports one of them and he likely watched them all the time as a kid, it's completely normal.

It doesn't mean he won't perform if he does come here though. Do you think Silva & Agüero dreamed of playing for City?
Yes Ageuro loved Dickov growing up and Kompany also dreamt of emulating his hero Sun Jihai.

They must sell someone, yet, this is a swap with Lukaku… hmmm, makes sense that.
People need to understand that money for clubs like united and juventus is smoke and mirrors. Cash doesn't matter. By selling Dybala for €90m they register a profit of like 80m which they write down into their books. Meanwhile Lukaku at €90m would only cost them 20m for this year

(There's wages too, but lukaku is essentially going to earn what dybala was making)

Second part of that tweet doesn’t make sense and it’s a swap, so they will get zero cash or very little.

Some of the Juve fans on Juventuz seemed to think it is tied up in accounting details and the amortisation of contracts etc. They ain't the brightest bunch though so could be talking crap.

Yep, exactly my thoughts.
The only thing that makes me excited is the fact that he's hyped up so much and he's a player of high/elite quality.
But when I think about where he fits in... I can't find an answer really.

Augero is one example, sure. It's fair to say we're all surprised he stayed here as long as he has. But he moved younger and it's worth noting he had already sampled his experience of La Liga and ticked it off his career before coming to England. I just find it more likely a player is more adaptable less familiar environments younger in their career rather than when they're at their peak or twilight. It's not a set rule but you can maybe see where I'm coming from. Dybala may have been more open to England at 22 than at now at 26 where he reckons he only has one big move left in him.

I'm not really bringing Di Maria into this debate, it's more the context of the tweet by Romano where he says Dybala dreams of Barcelona and Real. For a player turning 26, not wanting to leave Juventus and only linked to us because we can offer a player in return for, it's fine to be very apprehensive as to how his career with us would pan out.

No, that's exactly it

Jadon Sancho is the pure right winger we want and need, and we'll get him in 12 months.

I don’t get these guys, loves life in Italy but wants to go to Spain..to play with Messi..or not...Does he not want to be the main man? Is he not up to that challenge? Coming to England, dominating the league and elevating united and being an absolute club hero while getting paid a shit tonne.

Longstaff plus Fernandes equals 110m. Minus 80 for lukaku equals 30 million.

I’d sooner that than a player who doesn’t fancy it

That's interesting, it suggests that they don't really want Lukaku or want to sell Dybala, more that it is a reasonable solution to a pressing problem. The Ronaldo and De Ligt deals are massive in wages and fees combined so they come at a cost for Juve.
From the outside that seems to be the case. Juventus don't want to sell dybala so much as they *need* to sell him. Lukaku happens to be a good replacement that comes with a favourable deal

 Seriously? Our best ever player (arguably) dreamed of playing for Real Madrid.

He joined us at 17 and gave us 8 years. Dybala is 26. If hes dreaming of Real and Barcelona it's worth considering how much he's invested in our rebuild given the stage of his career

 That last tweet. He wants to join Barca to play with Messi? When in the national team they don't even fit together when they are on the pitch on the same time?

Is that for sure?
He didn't want to join us supposedly for lack of CL football but we're not guaranteed CL again next year either so definitely not for sure. Also, if Sancho has another season like the one he just had then he'll have his pick of clubs, including RM & Barca so why would he join us? For me, us signing Sancho is the biggest myth going.

Can people finally stop saying Dybala OR Fernandes? Dybala plays in the position where you'd find Rooney/RvP & Fernandes is a deeper midfielder like Herrera. Why do people even think they're interchangeable?
