So it means Bale will play as a starter :) and Matic may be offloaded in January to take the spot from Casemiro

Well, surely thats motivation for the players to actually pull their fingers out of their arses and put in the performances on the pitch.
If they don't qualify, they've no one but themselves to blame and they deserve their wage cut.

You can't really blame him when a lot of fans are saying most of our players are shite. But yeah it is a little defeatist. Is he up for the challenge??

I agree in some sense that it should be motivation to get top four in the first place, but if he has a great season and as don’t make top four because of the state of the defence he would have every reason to be pissed off.

This 25% clause should be a formality for most players but given the state of our team over the past 6 years it's far from it, so I can see why it's a topic of discussion.

Yeah that's what I mean.

Totally understand that. He needs to be convinced by the club that the club actually has ambition and being outside of the top 4 is unthinkable from hereon.

No no no!

That’s an indication of not only ambition but expectation. Being outside the top four is completely unacceptable and we’re not going to ‘reward ‘ any player for failing.

If this is a club policy it doesn’t get broken for any player under any circumstances.

I really want us to sign Dybala, but this has to be non-negotiable!

As much as I respect Torres It seems all very speculative. I find it strange that they get rid of Ceballos / Llorente / Bale / Vallejo and sign Mendy or Hazard while they are thinking about getting rid of Zidane and signing Mou.
The press confuses Florentino / Zidane's personal relationship as they confused his disagreements with Ramos in the past.
I don't rule him out for the future, but why didn't they do it last year? If Zidane was sacked or if he resigns at mid-season it would seem more reasonable to bring a "Solari" and wait for Pochettino.

Nah, all players need to buy into accountability. The 25% pay cut on missing out from minimum requirement is a great rule and it should he consistent across the board.

He will sign a bunch of players in their thirties to make the spine of his Real team and all the young players with potential will be sold

I get that. But to convince a top player from a better team to join a struggling giant with an unproven manager and plenty of average players is quite tricky. Especially if he’s ambitious. So if the club outlines serious plans over the next couple of years (no top player will wait years and years) that show we’ll seriously be competitive, fair enough, keep the clause. But, if there are no assurances of our ambition, I would totally understand his reluctance.

Is he not getting a substantial pay rise to come here anyway? In that case he can accept the collective performance-related element. There are questions about his desire to come here as it is....it would set a terrible precedent to not enforce the 25%

You're not getting his point. He's not walking into an established top 4 side so he has every reason to be wary. Current players deserve the pay cut but until the club can convince him of their ambition to get back to the top, his reluctance is valid. We're pissed off with how last season went and with the transfer window so far and we're the long time fans. So you can't really blame him.

You don’t bring someone new in and say the consequences of failure apply to everyone except you...

No, you say I know we're shit and we want you to make us great. We understand you can't do it on your own but give of your best and you won't be penalised. Bit exaggerated but you get my point.

Yeah you couldn't make it up. Shocking leadership. Makes Woodward look good.
Mourinho to ole finng solskjaer is a much bigger downgrade than Benitez to Bruce tbh. But Ole seems to fit in at the club so he should be given the benefit of the doubt

Ole understands exactly what United is all about and the man wants the club to do well. Mourinho was all about HIM! Ole may not be perfect but I admire what he's doing so far and I for one will back him over a narcissistic egotist who wanted to bend and change the club's philosophy (ugh) to fit his personal agenda.

I would rather 11 youth players who came up through the ranks and wanted to play for
United than 11 £100 million signings here for the money. However, a balance is needed for sure.

The FIFA generation has a lot to answer for and I personally am more excited and enthused about what Ole is trying to do than anyone since Fergie. It's definitely far more exciting signing James, Maguire and AWB than Matic and spending a summer trying to get Perisic!

whats this about?
Romano did a Pod in the morning with Sky in England and was asked a direct question which is in the short clip below. Also take into consideration that Romano's grasp of the English language isn't the best.

Was before Di Marzio's update (so a bit has changed since that anyway), and the key part was him saying "at the moment" as in yeah if nothing changes he won't leave because nothing is agreed (because they never stick their necks out for questions like that). On the other hand, Di Marzio's update was that details like image rights and other things like that are left to agree and Juve pushing him out more, which presumably means he is less willing to stay. Basically, that video is basically him talking about what the situation was like as of last night before they updated further.

Why? Zidane is not working well? I thought he was x100 better than Ole, and all.

Nothing to do with Zidane, just Real, Mourinho and Pogba.

I'd rather have Ole here than Zidane, not saying who i think is the better manager, just who i think is a better fit for us.

I'd want us to keep Pogba, I don't like Real in general and the way they seem to consider they have a divine right for our players or whatever. We need to work out our mess and get back to the top. I do hope they go through a mess this season again just so that we don't feel that lonely in that tunnel we're in right now...

Same here mate. Hate Real with a passion.

When they lost 6-2 to Atletico i punched the air.

He doesn’t say next week. He said at the moment he’ll still be Juventus player.

It’s a shit rule in a league where 4 teams are legitimately fighting for 2 spots. Where a couple of unfortunate injuries could see the likes of Ashley Young and Andreas Pereira regularly in the team. It’s a pretty big turnoff when the club that puffs it’s chest out yearly about it’s revenues docks the wages by 25%. It’s a pretty whopping number.
