Apparently wants €15million to convince Dybala *edit, the agent wants the €15 million

Yep I'm sure Ed took time out to speak with MEN about details of the ongoing negotiations.

Edit. Or the independent or any other journalist.

So you want to set a precedent for other clubs? "O look utd are desperate let's squeeze in another 10m"

Initial demand was 80m, now i am seeing 85+10 and if you are happy to pay 90 then you must be happy to pay 95. 2-3 days later you will be happy to pay 100.

Leicester can get fecked with their demands. It's the board that couldn't properly plan for a fallback option or even a stopgap.

I think you make a very valid point in the first part in bold.

I am not happy with paying over the odds for any player but I think Leicester set such a high fee as they thought no-one was stupid enough to pay it because they want to keep him to enhance their chance of getting into Europe next season. Maguire wasn't my first choice anyway but I would take him now.

With regards to your second point I think this is own fault. I believe that we should do our transfer business at the beginning of the window because when we try purchasing players towards the end of the window we are in danger of a team adding a few million, then another few million on top again like you mentioned in your point, as they know we are getting desperate.
We knew what the the maximum we thought was a fair fee for him, we should have just bid the maximum what we thought was fair at the beginning instead of letting it drag on and if they weren't willing to accept it we should have moved on. If we thought he was worth £80m we should have just paid it so then they don't have the opportunity of upping the price this late in the window.

Tpotally agree with your last point in bold, at the rate we are moving at the moment doesn't look like we will be getting an alternative in and that worries me going into the season.

Can we just bid £150m for McGuire then tell Leicester to feck off after they accept the bid? Not any many (maybe even any) defenders in the current game are worth £90m, especially not McGuire.

MAGUIRE - M A G U I R E

We're not in for him.

Can't believe how well suckered in people have been to the Bruno story, the Portuguese media and his people have done a wonderful job of whipping up an online frenzy over him.

100%. If we were seriously interested he’d already have signed. It could be we inquired but that was it. That alone is enough to get the media machine rolling. For all we know the Spurs interest is more bullshit as well. My guess is he’s still a Sporting player at the start of the season.

Everyone losing their shit over Maguire and why we didn’t just go for Alderweireld for £25m. Ever think he doesn’t want to come to United? Or, Ole doesn’t want him?

I still think we’ll get Maguire. It smells like Leicester are trying to get a replacement before anything is announced. It also smells like they just don’t want to sell.

It's not MEN making the claim, it's Gazette Dello Sport. It's just been included in MEN's gossip section.

OK, any journalist. If negotiations were over then you might start leaking stuff, but if Man Utd were disgusted, they would hardly tell an Italian journalist.

Just not Dybala.

Tuttosport report that Mandzukic will head to Old Trafford in a separate deal worth around £10-15 million.

I've gone from "it would be pretty mental if we managed to swap Lukaku and Darmian for Dybala and Mandzukic" to "Oh feck, we're going to end up getting Mandzukic off their books, keeping Darmian for another year and shipping Rom off to Inter for a cut price towards the end of the European window now aren't we?" real quick.

I’m starting to suspect a double announcement of Welbeck and Cahill on deadline day

Alderweireld at £25m for 2 years worth of prime level is the same as Maguire for 6 years at £75m in the long run. Plus you’ve got the benefit of not having to do this rodeo again in 2 years time.

I think the better option would be Alderweireld at £25m for 2 years, as you mentioned, then handing over the rein to Linderof, who then becomes the senior defender, who shepherds Alex.

By offloading Jones, Rojo and Darmian this summer, the club makes a sum, of lets say 30 to 35 mill.

Bailly contract expires next summer, so the club is gonna make a loss unless, they do what they have been doing and hand him a contract.

The club has had one year, to scout players, as it was evident last summer, how things would turn out.

The bigger issue is if Mc T gets injured, then were really in trouble.

Thought it was more like wanted a rim job, not just a financial issue. Football is awash with greedy agents, clubs shouldn’t be disgusted or surprised by their behaviour.

I know phrases, numbers etc. I know you can get by without it pretty comfortably, but job wise it would be impossible for me without it.

I’m actually waiting to fly out now for two weeks, and holiday are always give you a distorted view of a place, but I love it there. I don’t live in a big city in the UK so it doesn’t really bother me too much that Ljubljana is small.

In that case, you'll fecking love it!

Hope your girlfriend has a lot of friends. :) Or buy Netflix and HBO right away. Or just start having kids.

As for the language, i'm Croatian but my grandma is Slovenian, so i understand everything, yet can't speak shit.
Slavic languages are hard to learn for English speaking people. We have shit you can't imagine.

As for jobs - Ljubljana is more then complimentary to foreign jobs - it's not really an eastern country. They are more closer to european standard then to the balkan standard. So, i believe you could find an english speaking job with ease, depending on your education of course.

Way off topic here.

-----------------------------------------------

Dybala would be great. We don't have a good natural left footed striker of the ball, and we badly need one.

Manđa would be crap. The only thing he has is passion. I'm all for passion, but we badly need quality now. We can build on team passion later.

Maguire - end this nonsense already come on. Either we pay up or they can feck off. The unfortunate reality of things is - there is no value in CB's today.
He's got all the things we need - quality, leadership, locality.

Fernandes - good adition to the versatilty of the squad. Although - if we do get a chance for Dybala, i'd rather take him and pass on Bruno than the other way around.

The UK and Italy's population are relatively similar, yet there are 10 times more Italians living in the UK than Brits in Italy. Which whatever you think about Manchester (or the UK in general) is a bit surprising to be honest.

It's because of the financial situation. In terms of which one is nicer, there's no contest. It's Italia, by miles.

Hodgson always had a raging one for Smalling. Pity we can't flog Smalling to Palace while giving them Lukaku on loan for a season in return for Zaha at a fair price, minus the 20% we own, making it a quick deal with £45 million going the other way.

A year down the road and Lukaku is top scorer at Palace, meaning the fortune spent on Maguire is recouped quickly from Inter, who realize they have to pay Lukaku price in full.

I wouldn't mind Cahil.
Uh oh.
We went from De Ligt to Maguire to now Cahill. United is such a disgrace of a club, Woodward is dumb as shit, Ole knows nothing, we will finish outside top 10, the world will end next season....
am I doing this right?
