So that’s two players apparently ruled out. Ah well, we’re still getting Savic, Maguire and Eriksen if we believe the positive tweets as much as the negative ones

I think it was getting obvious the club's name was being used to drum up interest in Bruno, looks like Woodward has addressed this with the press.

So sky news article about Bruno states he isn't a priority signing for the club. Which midfielder is then? Doesn't look good with the Maguire deal either. Full meltdown starting with 2 weeks today and the window closes.

Also says the club haven't decided which players they're willing to sell yet :wenger:

It's either complete bullshit or we are just a rudderless ship under Woodward.

Yeah it's terrible mate. Every one of us Utd fans know what players need selling. Must of reported back to pre season like new players and Ole changed his mind.

People can call solskjaer a yes man all they like, but I think he's doing a phenomenal job keeping optimism and mood positive leading into a new campaign. Staff and players aren't stupid, they all know how badly we need players in certain roles, they know it probably more than we know it and somehow we haven't descended into complete chaos and negativity this pre season.

Woodward is overseeing a true disgrace of transfer policy and if people turn on the manager before that prick, they should be ashamed. 2 weeks until window closes, no sales of any note, 1 first team signing.

Think it will be Maguire in the last week and we will be done.

Maybe we will also get desperate and take Bale on loan on deadline day.

Not a lot of time to prevent it from be a disappointing summer (again) really. No overhaul and still stuck with deadwood. A lot on the shoulders of the younger players at this rate.

Two weeks till the start of the season and all we got is a good fullback and a young winger.

Last year even Everton and Fulham spent more than us and this year Villa did a good transfer job while Ed is still playing about with getting us to think we're interested in a hundred players and suddenly we're not anymore!

We've unfortunately become the laughing stock of the PL.

Is it laughable if we go into the season with a weaker midfield. Never thought we'd let Herrera leave and not replace him, that's not me saying we should have given in to his laughable demands though.

Almost a full month since we signed bissaka and thought things were looking efficient. I can't imagine what would be happening at Madrid if they had signed 1 full back this summer, just one year after winning 3 champions leagues and nowhere near as desperate as us to rebuild. We're a soft touch as fans.

Laughable post.

You think Herrera was worth what he was asking for? the money and contract demands were a joke.

Got ‘em.

Going by your post you seemed to love the word ‘laughable’ so thought I’d make it three in a row.

I know it’s early in the morning but come on, man.

We'll probably have McTominay as Herrera's "replacement" and either Longstaff or Garner as Fellaini's "replacement".

They sold Ronaldo and bought me as a replacement!
That Madrid side is as bad as ours and are now suffering from years if undervestment. I don't know why you're using them as an example.

70m spent last summer, 70m spent so far this summer.....
Actually last summer it was Fred (£47m) and Dalot (£19m) for a total of £66m. This summer it's AWB (£45m) and James (£15m) for a total of £60m. Even less! Looks like the Glazers can afford a £6m house now!

We need to sell if we buy someone like SMS. We have not sold anyone yet.
Why though? We lost both Fellaini and Herrera. We need to be replacing Matic as he is just not good enough anymore.

Selling our best CM right now is crazy to me, unless we sign at least another top level midfielder.

Disagree hugely, their investment whatever it was got them 3 champions leagues in a row. Now they have an ageing core of serial winners while also having 2 top keepers, one of the best centre halves in the world in varane, 2 good full backs, some emerging Spanish talent, and have bought one of the best strikers in Europe from last season and Eden hazard having huge hopes from vincius Jr. I think that is a perfectly appropriate comparison this summer, to a club that can't finish top 4 and still has darmian Rojo Jones sanchez lukaku and more on our books. Every single fan here would swap our summer window for theirs in a split second.

I'm calling it now.
The players will start getting ruled out by the papers via Woodward briefing over the next week, until we're literally down to Maguire. And if Lukaku stays, Maguire doesnt come. So chances are we go into the new season with James and AWB. Pogba will be sold but way too late for us to replace him and it will all be done deliberately so the Glazers can pocket the money.

McTominay will play more of a role and it's clear the management rate Pereira. SMS is not a Matic replacement.

disappointing

this was the one I allowed myself to get excited about - Mata/Lingard ain't gonna cut it in midfield when Pogba isnt on it

Mata and Lingard...wow we are so blessed.
If not Fernandes we should be signing someone who can create, score and be tenacious in midfield and also someone who can defend the back four. It is the most important part of most successful teams but this club is not interested in winning trophies again it seems. Our right wing is a fecking joke also. When we fail to break down most teams again next season and our youth are not getting a sniff because our experienced dead wood will get the nod, I will be stinking the match thread out with my moaning. So everyone get ready to ignore my posts

You can see it coming a mile off. The club are happy for the media to keep the fans positive with exciting transfer stories, but will put the fire out just before the deadline day to bring us back to reality. In the meantime they'll continue to pocket millions whilst we spend a pittance investing in the team. They just know that fans are gullible and accept it all.
