Maguire and Longstaff would be decent business. Longstaff is more important than Fernandes for me because he can take over from Matic and more mobile. Whereas in the attacking midfield position Gomes and Pereira could play more.
But ideally we’d get Fernandes as well. Just it’s looking dodgy now and like we will only get maguire at best.
He is worth £40-50m in the current market if he had a reasonable long contract.

Periera is mediocre as best and Angel is a kid. I'd rather put up with Matic in that position for a year longer if it means getting the goals and creativity we need from midfield especially with such an weak/inexperienced forward line.

At a guess, it's the same situation as Milinkovic-Savic last summer (ie club keen to sell and are trying to make a market for the player by shopping him all over Europe and endlessly briefing about how in demand the he is).
