Real Madrid are holding out for a fee of 40 million euros for James Rodriguez and would not block rivals Atletico Madrid from moving for the Colombian.

If a 4231 is to be our favoured position we could do a lot worse. However, now that Mata has extended and Jesse obviously won’t be sold - would certainly be overkill.

They'll demand over 80 mil for him if we want him.

Yeah I know James Rodriguez doesn't fit the whole young, British core thing we're going for but WHOLLY CRAP 40 million in this day and age for a player of his quality is like the money that the Glazers have under the cushions of their antique leather sofas. He would shite all over Mata or Lingard in the middle or on the right. Que pena.

He's meant to be a top talent
If they deploy him as a second striker or attacking midfielder, he will do well for the Toon. Never a striker though, he is pretty shit in front of goal. Excellent hold-up play though, very good technique coupled with a very high work rate. I’m actually surprised Liverpool aren’t in for him, he’d fit a Klopp team like a glove. Not a goalscorer, but I feel his skill set will suit the Premier League just fine. He had a very good season at Hoffenheim, but got injured at crucial times as well. Good attitude too. As Rapid Vienna are my local team, I’ve watched Joe for two years and think he can make it in the Premier League. Not sure if the price isn’t too high, but Hoffenheim obviously don’t really want to sell.

Surprised you think so highly of him.
Don't think he did that well at Rapid and I certainly don't think he is all that.

His main problem is that he is lacking a clear position. The skill set is good enough, but let’s see how he is being deployed by Bruce. He was surely lacking in front of goal in Vienna, but even that improved under Nagelsmann’s coaching.

At last, a realistic post.

"obviously it isnt that simple but point is" knew I should have bolded and underlined it. My point was simply "Maguire is the only option" type posts etc etc etc, there are plenty of good players about and we have plenty to get rid of, we should be doing far far more. We actually have some really good youngsters, if we actually made some bold moves this summer we could actually compete for that title

The realistic thing is at the moment we have signed a phenomenal young right back and that is pretty much it and barely got rid of anybody, go back 3/4 months and nobody would be happy with that as a whole at this point

PSG are going to have a decent midfield selection with Verratti (Paredes as back-up) and Gueye (Herrera).

I really dislike loaning players of this quality to clubs the level of Leipzig. They are too well run, successful, established and clued-in that i feel like their is too big of a risk that the player likes the lay of the land while on loan there and would seek to make the move permanent. Not to add the risk of him getting the taste of a totally different culture both on and off the field that he may also enjoy. I'd rather he and similar talents go on loan to the likes of Brighton, Southampton etc

You don’t want them to get a taste of something else they may enjoy more? This sounds like an abusive relationship  If you look at it from the perspective of the player, the things you’ve listed out there, a loan to a club like Leipzig is much better than to a club like Saints or Brighton.

First Trippier and now this guy? Both started the Champions League final! Interesting moves from Spurs.

Trippier went for peanuts (for a 28 England international), what are they looking to get for Rose?
Asking price is £20m apparently
