Even if it was a clever move to let Greenwood go on loan (which it isn't as he is bound to get a lot of gametime at United) - to let him go on loan to Newcastle would be suicide for the poor lads career.

I am having a hard time remembering 3 players whose career improved after going to St.James' Park.

Greenwood on loan to Newcastle as a sweetener in the Longstaff deal would be a good option.
We should learn our lessons from how Roeder and the barcodes ruined any chance of Rossi making the step up at Utd. Utterly ruined his confidence and he subsequently left for Villareal the season after despite everything up to that point indicating that he was going to be one of the best talents to come out of the club in years.

Ogden was great during the Moyes era, but has been spotty at best since then. I wouldn't actually be surprised if credible journalists came out with "it's almost done" claims very shortly after Ogden says "it's miles away".

I think there is a different type of journalist. For example, Castles are more reliable in term of creating new rumors which actually turned to be true sometime, he's on a different level to Ogden. On other hands, a guy like Simon, Sam Lee, Ornstein, and others who have reliable reports and often been briefed from the club and reports the news the club tell them to but they didn't make their own.

They talk a lot of **** in that podcast. A month or so ago I believe he casually announced that United had agreed a fee for a big star (I think it was Dybala) but he never bothered to write an article or tweet about this 'news'

Thats true. He said we agreed a fee for Dybala (100m i think). Never heard a beep about that ever since

Incredible journalists saying the complete opposite of each other. Journalism isn’t journalism anymore it’s just click bait nonsense. Most of them don’t know any more than all of us. Stealing a living.

Chong maybe but Greenwood? He's not far from first team action, we're short of quality up front and Newcastle look like being dire next season. Not a chance.

Yeah, no way to Greenwood, think he could be a vital player this year if he takes his chances. I would want to keep Gomes. Chong I would be happy to see get a loan as nowhere near ready for our first team squad, not sure he is good enough anyway. Garner be happy to loan too

Are you on glue?

Agreed. Get a relegation under his belt to give him some backbone

Lolno

/facepalm

I’ll put it in the ‘maybe’ folder.

Indeed they do.

Plymouth have created a strange rivalry with my local boys Wycombe, after an ill feeling play off game a few years ago. Their perception is that we use the "dark arts" too much, which culminated in them booing our clearly injured keeper off the pitch at their ground after that - he didn't play again that season and was basically released into non league after.

So let's just say when their relegation was confirmed, there was a monumental cheer :)

Why don't we go for Ruben Dias should get for 40m or 50m i prefer him to maquire.

Exactly this. Would never trust Newcastle with a loan deal again. Feck Roeder, the Sean Lock looking cnut. Feck Pompey too. We're rubbish with loans, can't think of a single player we've loaned out and they've significantly benefited us afterwards. Welbeck maybe.

This is such a crazy idea. Why the feck would you loan the best talent the club has had in years? The kid needs to be nurtured in an environment United can control and watch every step of. Last thing we need is him going to Newcastle and get neglected/his confidence shattered or worse like an injury or something.

@IrishRedDevil isn't it great, even when you’ve come clean and owned up to it, they keep coming at you.

See his move this summer as a similar stage of his career (not comparing the players other than that), to Tielemans move to Monaco 2 years ago. He might not be ready for a big club, like United quite yet, but might be ready next summer. At the position we are atm, lacking CL and being in a bit of turmoil to rebuild, maybe this is the kind of stage in career we need to try to attract talent now?

Shame that would have heen a great move for Sheff Utd. Don't think Berge is at the level Tielemans was when he left so don't think he's ready for a Monaco but maybe an Everton or a Bournemouth?
