120m seems like a decent offer. Maybe we could get some young talent on top as well? Moise Kean perhaps?

Try to get it up to 130 mill or 120 + bonuses and just be done with it already. Can't have him around the first team in pre-season

The very reason agents and player go public is to get fans actively involved in the discussions. Shirt sales and commercial value of the player simply dries up and ultimately forces the club to sell him fast and likely cheaper unless an auction is created. If the player becomes adamant he wants to join a particular club then this becomes even more problematic as this then stops any auction.

A deal has to be done and probably will already be done in the background. Players and agents don't generally go public unless they are sure they have made their bed.

£120 million seems like a great deal to me, the £150 million is a go away price not a true valuation, Pogba has done nothing that would value him as high as £150 mil, TBH I think £120 mil is an amazing deal we should rip their hands off

Felix who barely played at top level went for 120 million.

Agree with that 120m is a reasonable amount to sell him for I'd be content. Hopefully we can secure a deal for an replacement before we announce to the world that he's gone though.

Atletico also played 50m for Vitolo and close to that for Kalinic. Diego Costa was signed for something ridiculous too. They paid 70m for Lemar and then bunged another 70m on Morata. Hardly the standard of what to expect in the market. Juventus and Madrid are much more shrewd.

Yeah but shouldn't be our problem. They also paid 94 million for Higuain and this was before Neymar transfer. We should hold out for more money or a good player in swap deal.

I think paying 120m for Pogba is akin to paying the 80m they paid for Higuain. We'll never sell him if we hold out and frankly he isn't worth the trouble and the drama. Never has been.

On who is the better talent, you are entitled to your opinion, I very strongly disagree (I will say that with words rather than six smilies). I would say a very decent % of United fans would say Loftus-Cheek is the superior talent and very few Chelsea fans would rather have Rashford.

You miss the point re wages. Obviously United's turnover is massive but that doesn't mean a player at United should be on more money than he would be worth if he were at another club.

55% is under control ( at least it most certainly doesn't qualify as out of control) and wages are well balanced across the squad, we don't have a player earning 3-5 times what others in the squad are that is artificially inflating the wage demands of and offers to players that would never get the same offer elsewhere.

Fecking hell, are you okay... mentally?

I don't think we will miss him at all. We did well enough without him in the team at some point this season. We actually played like a team for once. His good form around the time Ole came shouldn't mask how poor he was during his time here. He never delivered and i, would be quite happy with him leaving. Less bad influence on the team.

Can anyone make sense of this?

Supposedly a 130m release clause, but Atletico are only entitled to 81m of that and would have to pay the rest to retain him.

I've never heard of anything of the sort and it makes no sense.

Four Four Two an article about Saul's contract and the basic bones of it are that Quality Football (headed up by Jorge Mendes and Peter Kenyon) own a 40% stake in Saul's contract. The source was Football Leaks.

As part of the terms they must be made aware of any transfer offer that comes in for him. Should they want the offer to be accepted then Atletico must either accept the bid or reimburse Quality Football the sum they would have received.

For example if we (or anyone else) were to bid say £100m then Quality Football are guaranteed £40m either from the buying club of the deal goes through or from Atletico should they choose to retain him (at this point Quality Football would no longer retain a stake).

Is the rumours are correct, Juve only received like 60+M of the 80+ transfer fee. So I can see why they are paying 120m -- double of what they had originally received. I can see them thinking of that as a fair deal.

I've not seen these rumours, have you got a bit more detail? Is it that we have only paid £60m because the deal was in instalments? Is it that certain add-on milestones haven't yet been met? What's the deal?

Pogba has been shit for us relative to the price tag and fanfare. Take the 120m and buy players who want to be here.

If they do spend 150m on another midfielder I'll be extremely surprised though. They are very very crowded in the middle. Plus they are still haggling over De Ligt.

No, when Juve took him on a free from us in the first place, they done a dirty deal with Mino that he would own about 30% of Pogba's transfer fee, so in essence it's their own fault they got less of the fee.

So realistically if they even attempt to say that we should tell them to feck off as well as Real.

120 euros right? So £107m

Juve apparently offering £120m? So 133m euros.

Not the same is it? ;)

Not the same.

120 million vs 133
107 million vs 120

Doesn't make any difference. We should be getting lot more than what Benfica got Felix.

Think we should sell quickly so that hopefully Woody gets replacement in quickly as I cant Woody freeing up funds until we sell Pogba, of which I hope we invest the full fee if we can;t get any players in exchange. Hoping this gets done soon, as the longer it takes the more excuse it gives Woody to say something like we were after 'x' player but didn't have enough time to get said transfer done.

I don’t agree with this. We should have money without selling Pogba for starters. And the minute we get £120-£150m for him no doubt we will be quote even more for the targets we want.

We need to get our business done then sell Pogba at a good price. We shouldn’t need to sell him, other than the fact him and his agent are rats.

Which to my mind was mental, still not convinced that there was not something dodgy there but still, Felix went for a release clause, just because a club thought it was worth the gamble in the open market nobody else was looking to pay that price.... in normal market Felix would have been half or less that price

It's not normal market. In normal market 70 million would get us 2 Maguires.

It was 126m euros too, for what it’s worth.

Completely agree we should be holding out for £150m. Totally a fair offer.

You make a very valid point and I also think we should have the money without having to sell Pogba. I would have liked to have got our business done before we sell Pogba because I fear that we will get fleeced due to the selling team knowing that we have 'x' amount of money to spend due to the Pogba sale and also they will know we are desperate so they will try to get a few more million. But sadly I feel that Woody doesn't feel the same and doesn't want to make the money available until we sell Pogba. Which is a shame. I totally agree with the part in bold.

Maguire at £70m is a fair price for an English international CB considering English fullbacks cost around £50m nowadays
They are either WC fullbacks or the ones with potential. Maguire is neither

The rumour was that the missing $$ was for Rialo and his folks.

Hardly any tweets in the last two pages. Keep it moving guys.

Yeah, those are the only 2 criteria.

Some of you deserve another year of Phil and Chris.
The poster said that English fullbacks cost around 50m these days. AWB and Walker are the only two i can recall going for that price. What is your other mystical criteria that justifies 70m? If you think splashing cash on not so special players is the way to go then congratulations! You haven't learned anything from last 4-5 seasons.

That's because they got shit loads of Pogba money, no?
