Well if they want to convince one of the worlds richest clubs to sell them their best player then they'll have to won't they.

Emotionally I also want to play hardball but then it will get ugly and it’s not worth it.

Pogba (and Lukaku) has mentally left the club. What is left is only a pissing contest and with Raiola involved we can only imagine the outcome.

If we can reinvest properly and buy two quality midfielders like Ceballos and Dani Osmo and still have money left then I think it’s a good deal. If reports are to be believed and Osmo cost us €35m then we have another €65m to invest, and that’s not including the Lukaku fee and our annual war chest of £100m. From my understanding the fee for AWB was part of the 2018/19 fiscal year.

Hopefully we’re smart and do the right thing. Pogba is gone in my mind, I only want to move forward with best possible outcome.

do fans who want Pogba sold expecting us to get €150m for him?

Pogba is worth whatever money it takes us to buy Saul + Bruno (or Ceballos).

Not a penny less.

Bale is negative money. Taking Bale off their hands is saving them 50m. It is a very similar situation to us and Sanchez. No one will take that contract, not even for free.

While I agree with you, we are not running a charity either. 80m is insulting. Anything less than 120 is robbery.

I think I'd actually be quite happy with Pogba being told he can spend the next three years sitting on the bench and Real Madrid told they can go sit on a baseball bat before accepting an €80m offer.

Becoming very apparent PSG really fecked up this transfer and are trying to get as much back as possible.

Another of world football's current trend of greedy selfish attitude players.

PSG didn't feck up, they have already contributed to fecking football up. He wouldn't have made the transfer in the first place if it wasn't for greed. French football's a joke, no reason other than money to make that transfer.

Yeah 100% this. feck Real and feck Raiola.

Rose, considered one of Tottenham's best players in their Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in May, is on a list been given to other clubs alongside Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josh Onomah and Marcus Edwards.

Can anyone make sense of this?

Supposedly a 130m release clause, but Atletico are only entitled to 81m of that and would have to pay the rest to retain him.

I've never heard of anything of the sort and it makes no sense.

I have never felt less bothered about the prospect of one of our top players leaving the football club.

I reckon he will.

Pogba, for all his faults, is media savvy. His brand and his marketability requires him not to be an outwardly mutinous cnut. His sponsorships will be worth more to him in the long run, so making an enemy of the best supported club on the planet won't be in his interest.

The C. Ronaldo-model, which sees him still garner respect from United fans despite wanting the same thing that Pogba does, is the one to follow.

He effectively left the club in March. He downed tools once to get Mourinho fired and then again once his head was turned under Ole.

Who cares if it gets 'ugly' and it is most definitely worth it. From both a financial point of view and deterring them in the future.

United haven't sold a player to Real or Barca in 10 years, they rarely come sniffing round because they know United are not easy to deal with and United don't need the money. If the club just rolls over and sells our best player for less than he's worth then they'll start tapping up our best players every summer.

Rumour is United value Pogba at £150M so if he really wants to leave then he can get his agent to inform the buying club thats the price they have to pay. If they can't afford it then tough shit he's spending the next 2-3 years in Manchester.

Yeah 100% this. feck Real and feck Raiola.

In response to both quotes wouldn’t Raiola want the biggest transfer amount? How is it beneficial for him for Pogba to move to Madrid for less than what he’s worth? Is it that any sale is better than none?

I could see it not working out this year and Pogba giving us a great season which we need.

Marcus Edwards ... what a pity. He has a sprinkling of stardust when he's in the mood. I think he has more individual brilliance than Hudson Odoi, Nelson, and co. However, he lacks both the mentality, and understanding of the game required. Individualistic to a fault

That could happen and we either end up selling them too late to replace, or are left with two players who do not give a toss or we could get rid them quickly and replace them with class players. Are Unite capable of doing this right? Of course if they sell too late, they will promise Ole players in January with the money. Dream on Ole.
Why should United sell quickly when buying clubs aren't prepared to pay what the club wants?

Lies. Either Juventus are lying to make themselves look like one of the big boys who can afford a transfer fee that size, or Raiola is the source of the story, whose job it is to lie to the media on Pogba's behalf.
Didn't they spend like 230m last year, over 100 on Ronaldo, I'm sure they could make it happen if they really wanted to.

I dont think its unreasonable. I'd take £100m but think given the right circumstances, £140m is achievable.

In these circumstances, I spin it around. If we were purchasing Pogba this summer, how much would Real Madrid or Juventus be asking? I’d say that we would have to spend close to £200 million. So anything less than receiving £150 million is us getting our pants pulled down.

£100m would be an insult. United both him for that price. Now he's very important for us, a walking brand and now a World cup winning player.

If United were trying to sign Pogba this summer, having seen his often half-hearted performances, bad attitude and disruptive influence on team spirit, I doubt they'd even want to sign him. But if they still did, I doubt they'd offer more than £70 - 80m tops.

Why?

Do you seriously expect Madrid to pay more then €150m.
Yes, it’s 150m GBP btw, please don’t bother us with the cheap EUR exchange rate. It should even be 300m GBP when Felix goes for 120m EUR.

You do know thats not how the football market operates right

Ronaldo played his heart out at every club he has been. And he spent a lot of years at each of his clubs.

Pogba is a spoiled cnut in comparison.

That’s a fair first offer. I think we could settle for about £130m

Saul alone will cost us close to £100m or more.

The only offer I can see us accepting from Juve would be something like £100m + Pjanic which would mean one less mid to buy for us.

Take the £120m and run,ffs.

Run where?

To pay £90m for Harry Maguire and £50m for Sean Longstaff?

We can't sell low, buy high all the time.

Our fanbase needs to improve its understanding of economics and not be emotional regarding transfers.
