I'm beginning to think it was a massive mistake to target only players we'd have a free run at. It means there is no wider market for them where regular prices apply. Tielemans goes for 40m. Olmo possibly for just North of 20m. But Longstaff is now 50m, I mean, if anyone else was asking, it'd be not even half that.

And you have to ask the question why no one else is asking....

Why's Isco trending on twitter? I assumed he's either dead or we're trying to sign him.

If Ole is basing his judgement of Longstaff on 9 games then we are truly hopeless when it comes to scouting players.

It should be £15m plus appearance related bonus of £5-8m. Whilst it's obvious that most 5 year olds are better at negotiating than Woodward, if he allows to be taken for a ride by Newcastle for anything more we might as well give up!
All the lads trying to get a foot in now. Giggseh suggesting Danny James. Rio suggesting some CB. Fletch throwin a name out there.

Reeks of a well run organization if you ask me

Ceballos will go only on loan and for 1 year.
Arsenal or Tottenham.He prefers Tottenham

Are we sending bids on the back of tortoises? Or are will literally doing house clearances...

We'll offer you 15 pens, 2 old mattresses, a beaten up side drawer, a few patches of lawn, a couple of plant pots, Young, Jones, Darmian, Rojo and a partiridge in a pair tree. Oh and 2 tickets to see our under 13's!

Supposedly he is one of the options offered by Real in the Pogba transfer. The other is Bale. If you can call them options.

Great, a sticky-toed-never-pass-the-ball-feck and a permanently injured welshman with a daft haircut and an aversion to signing for us. We'll end up with both and a posh leg of serrano ham in exchange for Pogba I reckon. Seems like just the kind of deal Ed'd go for.

I’m actually not that worried about woodward being strong-armed into selling at a cut-price. Wether that is for the best is for the future to reveal though...
Hard to tell what is a good path for us from here. Think we need to get really lucky with a couple of talents(think Bale@spurs) or rebounds(Salah@pool) to bounce up to CL spots. That or getting the right people in charge at the top. At the top-top....

"Preparing a bid"
"Joining the race"

fecking pathetic they get away with the same old nonsensical cliches year after year and all the saps who still lap it up as if these are meaningful phrases.

Lukaku in Sarri's team  I think we are doing what many clubs to do us - generate fake interest so Inter pays what we ask.

Sounds like Juve are buttering us up for their inevitable lowball Pogba offer.

Regarding president Bartomeu's statement today we wish to state that it is true that yesterday there was a meeting between Miguel Ángel Gil and FC Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau, at Barcelona's request and that at that meeting, Mr Grau expressed his intention, once the release clause of Antoine Griezmann's contract had decreased from 200 to 120 million euros, to ask for a deferred payment of the aforementioned amount of the clause in force as from July 1.
Atlético de Madrid’s response was obviously negative, as we believe that FC Barcelona and the player have disrespected Atlético de Madrid and all its fans.

Romano said that the deal is done and that there was an agreement both sides so not sure what to believe.

What does "preparing a bid" actually mean? We seem to do a lot of that

I imagine Ed cross legged on the floor of our boardroom, surrounded by a mountain of loose stationary, elaborately decorating the sacred piece of A4 with all manner of glitter, gel pens, stickers etc, to really wow the selling club on receipt of our completed offer.

I've never seen soooooo much pussy footing around in a transfer summer like this before. From a lot of clubs.
