If Arsenal somehow manages to swap 4 players for Zaha, will we receive 1 of those 4 players due to 25% clause?

I struggle to think of 1 player they would want to swap, that Palace would need

We bought Zaha for £10m rising to £15m with addons, then sold him for £3m rising to £6m with addons.

Nobody would have imagined he'd ever get sold for over £60m. At the time, only Ronaldo and Bale had been sold for more than £65m. The craziness of the transfer market has been totally unpredictable. The cap will have been put in as a theoretical maximum, with nobody ever expecting it to be reached.

On that note, I wonder what there is to stop Arsenal from, for example, buying a CPFC youth player for 40m & Zaha 'officially' for 20m?

I mean it seems pretty underhanded and of course everybody would know what was what but, let's be honest, football is pretty sketchy all round these days. I'm guessing no laws would be stepped on?

Because it would be a terrible idea and would rely on a person being happy to be used as cattle? Why would they put someone on their wage books when they have no intention to use them and why would that player agree to go and potentially stifle their career?

How come Arsenal is in such a shit financial situation?
Not going to post it here as it would show up in the tweets only section but Swiss Ramble did a good thread on twitter on the subject this morning.

I’m starting to think that Auba to us might actually happen

Was discussing this with my arsenal fan friends today, can really see it happening

1 - their squad is so unbalanced they need to raise money for Buying Wingers CBs and Tierney, sacrificing 1 of their forwards may be the only way to generate required funds (if reports on budget are to be believed)

2 - He is probably one of their only assets that will generate enough, and is also 30 so will depreciate in value fast after this season (selling now makes some sort of financial sense)

3 - Feel like Ole would love to make a signing like this off a rival, reeks of Fergie type signing, last seasons top scorer off one of our closest rivals (for position)

Obviously depends a lot on what happens to lukaku, but the fact they are bidding at all for zaha (when their budget is 45 mio) tells me they must be confident of a few departures.

Get it done Ole.

Breaking Chelsea news...

I remember rubbing my hands in glee when he was announced in that 'weak lineup' on that day in 2014.. frustrates still to this day, because I knew we'd never see the likes of him again in the future playing for Chelsea. He nearly fecking scored himself at some point in the game If I remember right. I don't care how much money you got for him, just glad your getting rid of these remnants from that day once and for all!

Mark Schwarzer in goal and some useless little dude from Egypt, Mo something, started that game (not sure what ever happened to him).

Roughly £62m

I'd say that they should be paying a penalty for paying 2 years late rather than a cut price.€80m in 2 years would be closer to it or €20m upfront then €60m in 2 years

Will there be a loan fee? Thought we were sticking to our guns and not taking less than £80m for Lukaku?
