To be fair,Dalot can play on both sides. He's far more offensive than Shaw and AWB and arguably is the best crosser in the squad.
If we get rid now it would be so,so stupid.

Dalot news are utter BS. I remember Solskjaer mentioning him, Rashford and Greenwood as 3 examples about giving youth a chance and developing them into "United players" or something along those lines. Not to mention just 1 year ago he was one of the most coveted teenagers in Europe and I don't think the general consensus is him being a flop...at all.

You've just spent nearly 50 million on another guy in his position! It's not the biggest sign of confidence.

That would be true if Dalot was signed to be a starter.. He wasn't though.. We should have signed a right back in addition to Dalot last season. We are a year late.

Dalot can cover on both sides.. He is a squad player who, we hope, can become good enough to be a regular..

Valencia is gone.. Darmian will go... at some point. There is plenty of room for Dalot in the squad.

With oles comments for young, talented players, no way we get rid of dalot! Especially ahead of rojo and darmian. Absolute horseshit journalism.

Young is on his last legs and Dalot can cover many positions. Utter crap from a confirmed bullshitter.

James Robson, doing James Robson things. I’m not one for calling for banning sources, but he’s coming really close to that category. He’s full of shit.

I don't think there's any chance at all that he will go this summer but while you're right that he wasn't bought as a starter, he would have been bought as a young prospect who could be back-up for a year or two before becoming the first choice option. Signing Wan-Bissaka, who is only 21 himself, does make that line of progression for Dalot a lot harder while there have to be concerns about how quite highly Solskjaer rates him given he barely got a chance at right back even when Young was playing like an absolute drain.

Given how poor this update seems to be from robson, is there any strong evidence we actually are after bruno fernandes?
The strongest was some journo with connections at Milan saying we were close..
I have no clue how reliable that guy was, but from what I read, it seemed like he wasnt a serial bullshitter.. just no idea why he had an update on the matter...

And that was a couple of weeks ago.. nothing since.

Ole looking out for his pal youngy, can't have Dalot taking too many minutes from captain fantastic.

All the reliable journalists saying we haven't even contacted Sporting about him. Either we don't have the funds now or he isn't a priority.

Rather see Darmian, Young, Jones, Smalling and Rojo be shipped out before Dalot.
Maybe Woodward misheard after he asked Solskjaer “shall we sell Darmian, Young, Jones, Smalling or Rojo?” And Solskjaer replied “just sell da lot”

Ducker said we met his agent two months ago and contacted him when he was in England two weeks back.

From the article he put out yesterday... "United are interested in the Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff, and Bruno Fernandes, of Sporting Lisbon"

Is he any good for United? Seems like he has posted some odd things too. I just don't see why it wouldn't be done yet, what we are waiting for etc. These Portuguese links are always ridiculous every summer
James Ducker is one of the best journalists covering United out there. He doesn't bullshit.

Simon Peach also said we were interested in Bruno Fernandes but that nothing is imminent a few days ago. All out journos seem to agree we want two CMs and a CB but Longstaff is the only name that's really stuck at the moment.

Dalot leaving would be annoying but not completely crazy like some people are saying. Shaw and Wan-Bissaka will be our first choice full backs and Solskjaer, as much as we don't like it, clearly rates Young and preferred him over Dalot even when his form was dire at the end of last season.

Probably the best "da lot" joke that I've seen on here

It could explain a one-year loan, not a sale. How long is Young supposed to be here?

Is Dalot really that elite as a talent? I don’t see it really.

Would be surprised if he left as we’d only have Young, Shaw and AWB as first team options for full back, and with the Europa league we’ll have plenty of games.

Even if this is Young's final season then Dalot is still going to be stuck as a back-up player for the foreseeable future. If he's happy with that then I'm sure the club will gladly keep him but maybe he isn't. When he agreed to join us last year he can't have expected us to buy a better player in his position so quickly.

All we've seen so far during his United career is 3 or 4 good crosses, 3 or 4 occasions where he's beaten his man down the wing, some terrible defending, some terrible positioning, poor strength in physical battles, and arguably the worst passing of any player in a United shirt in years.

The first two things give us a glimmer of hope. The last few things can all be worked upon and improved. But if the coaching staff don't see the potential in him making those improvements, he'll never make it.

I certainly don't think he's anywhere near nailed on to make it at the top level. He'll be a project for a few years yet to come. The question is whether he's worth the effort for the potential upside.

I like Dalot in the same way I liked Rafael. If he trains on - which Rafael didn’t really, for various reasons - on he’ll be a very good player. But he’s a young player and his flaws are there for all to see. I think he’d be a liability over the course of a season if he did start as our first choice RB. Right now AWB is a much superior player.

If he'd pick any other top club to move to as a 19 year old he'd not be expecting to get as much game time as he did with us in his first season, on the count that big clubs usually have a clear first choice before they acquire young talents to be back ups. We've barely had any players on that right side for years, only Valencia who was only barely a fullback. That is why we went and bought a right back now, not to sell and replace a 19 year old we bought last year.

Dalot plays on the left back too, and not forget he had a lot of games on the wing as well last season, he was preferred on the wing in some games to bigger names like Sanchez and Lukaku. Pretty cool for a 19 year old fullback in his first full professional season. I'd imagine he is not distraught from the thought of a huge club like United looking to be strengthening in the transfer window. ;) He'll not be "stuck" here, if he plays better than his competitors he will be a first choice like every other player who deserves it, if he is not good enough and plays back up he will not be first choice anywhere else most likely.

So? Who said you can't have more than one players in one position? Nothing story - we have 50 games and instead of last year a quality depth for it.
