If he's available for only £25m, why hasn't a club snapped him up yet? Surely United, Arsenal or whoever can't be haggling over a relatively low fee?
If rumors are to be believed, he's our second or third choice RB and we might have already talked to him regarding a transfer and that he's not our first choice. I'm guessing we have asked him to wait and him being a United fan is happy to wait. There are other clubs interested like Everton and Arsenal but from what I have read, he's waiting for a United offer and if we sign someone else, he might sign for some other club. He's also open to staying at PSG. The fee is not a problem IMO as PSG has always maintained that they want 20-25 mill Euros
This also makes sense as we have been linked to Cancelo and AWB and are probably waiting to see if we can get one of them

Trippier or Meunier? Similar age profiles, one understands the Prem the other doesnt.
One is the better player - not the one that 'understands the prem'

This is the sort of signing that would excite me. He has been tremendous for Leicester and the statistics back it up. One of the best creators in Europe.

Not a big name but would add plenty for us.

Edit: Of course this could just be a rumour.

Maddison in for Mata would be a good upgrade.

Probably just a rumour yeah but I agree he has been excellent for Leicester and he would definitely improve us

How's he doing in Europe's assist rankings?

(PS. For anyone interested.... https://www.redcafe.net/threads/james-maddison.448111/page-2#post-24231192 )

He has 7 assists this season to add to the 7 goals he scored (although I think most of these are penalties)

In terms of the number of chances created this season he is the player who created the most number of chances in the league this season. According to Squawka he's created 81 chances (41 from open play and 40 more from set pieces)

Would be very happy if we signed him. Lad's a star, much better than the likes of Felix, who are doing it in a piss poor league and getting a pricetag of 100m.

So Leicester would want 60-70m for Maguire, means they definitely would want more than that for Maddison who they only signed a year ago. I call this rumour bollocks.

Although maybe we can offer them Lingard and cash for him.

AWB and Maddison instead of Meunier and Bruno for twice the price.

Sounds like us.

Don't think Fernandes n Meunier would leave much change from £90m so don't know where the double has come from.

I'd prefer the English lads too tbh. Better age. Better profile and more chance of staying put.

Will be a high fee but I could see Maddison pushing for the move. Maguire just seems like the type who wouldn't.

Absolutely nothing to base this on but gut feeling though.

Maddison's supposed to be a right twat though according to those who have met him, so for that reason, I'm out.

€20-25m for Meunier and €60-70mish for Bruno so €90mish for both.

That only buys one of the English lads.

And neither would improve us much.

120m would get both the English lads and you're brain-dead if you don't think they'd improve us. They both walk into our best 11.

Perhaps you should learn to read before resorting to name-calling.

But I suppose only a real brainiac could expect us to sign AWB and Maddison for €120m.

120m pounds.

Even if they cost a bit more I argued they wouldn't cost double and they wouldn't.

Also both are much younger too so more value in those deals.

Would cost £140-160m easily.

So. Double.

And I’m more interested in players who’ll add value on the pitch than spunking ridiculous fees on young Brits who may or may not be good enough.

But each to their own I guess.

Have a nice day.

AWB? Yes more than probable over Young/ Dalot. But Maddison? No thanks. Hugely over rated and defo not united quality. Stenches of a player who think hes much better than he is. Still. Would love to know who he would walk in our team over and improve our starting 11?

Ingurlish Lions > Johnny foreigners

Too expensive. Decent passer. But gives me too many flashes of Tom Cleverley. Would rather see Angel Gomes given a run-out in the number 10 position if we plan to go with a system that accommodates one.

I do always find it really funny how English/British players always have a lot more detractors than players playing in other leagues. Probably because they don't actually watch those players.

They tend to have a lot more hype, far more excuses made for them and seriously inflated transfer prices.

I don’t know about detractors.

This is why you're not a football manager and you're talking rubbish on a football forum.
