Is Lo Celso more of an attacking midfielder (ala Eriksen) or can he play the box to box role?

He's a decent passer with a wicked left footed shot at times who will win the ball back more than an AM like Eriksen. He's more of an all rounder, neat play and some nice passes but will also put his foot in a bit.

I'd describe him more as a dribbler but yeah he can do those things too. Just think that he sometimes holds on the ball a bit too much. Reminds me a bit of Isco. Great at beating his man in midfield though.

All these random players we are linked with, we will never sign them. Our club name is just put there to generate more reads and clicks. It's really despicable and i'll never believe it. Not that i want those players here though. I believe Ole has a list of his own players for Ed to buy and the club will stick by that

Guess we don't want Skriniar as we've already got a CB done and dusted.

What good will it do to announce it like this? Yea to appease the fans after an awful season but his price will shoot up an extra 100mil after this.

Maybe they've already agreed a deal and are waiting until after the Europa League final to announce it.

fecks me off the way they go about their transfers. No respect.

I highly doubt it. Chelsea aren't exactly itching to sell. They can't find a replacement seeing as how they're banned from the market pending ongoing arbitration.

BBC saying Spurs bid £53m for Lo Celso, although Betis want more

thanks for the info

Tottenham have made a bid of about 60m euros (£53m) for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

But Lo Celso has a 100m euro (£88m) release clause and it is understood Betis want to sell him for a fee closer to that amount.

Spurs will face competition for the 23-year-old Argentine with other Premier League clubs interested.

Would be surprised if someone offered them more than that. He is really good, but the amount they want is a bit ridiculous.

No it won’t. As fans we make out transfer dealings to be far more dramatic and movie like than they most likely are. Smokescreens, acting like you have alternatives to a player, not talking about your budget because clubs will try to fleece you more, it’s all nonsense.

Football is a very small pool, and the best players in the world an even smaller pool. Big transfers take months to go through properly. They don’t happen in one day. Chelsea will be well aware of Madrid’s interest from quite a while now, and in all likelihood have probably been negotiating with them for some time now. This interview isn’t going to make Roman suddenly “Hang on! These guys really want Hazard! Add another hundred million to his price!”

Release clause of 88 mil but spurs offer 53. Surely It has to be a lot closer than 53 mil.

Never said It did.

They have a release clause for a reason and why would they accept around 50 mil?
Everyone in Spain has release clauses, doesn't mean they won't sell for less. Release clauses get triggered quite rarely.

Because that's a lot of money for a club like Betis?
They should accept a low ball offer for a player they for some reason value rather highly because its a lot of money for them?

Where did you study business?

Yes I know. I was saying it should be closer not the same as release clause.

They really shouldn't sell for that price. Lo Celso isn't just one of their best players. He's their best player. Statistically, the second most creative player in the league behind Messi in terms of overall play.

How are a club like Real Betis in a position to hold out for that kind of money? Surely not like.

They can hold out because they know someone will eventually pay. Nevertheless that article is fecking shite.
Why would Spurs bid 53mil with their first attempt, it doesn't make sense.

£53m is not a "low ball" offer. A release clause figure is not a valuation.

If the report is accurate - a big IF of course - then that would be a club-record bid from Spurs, which I wouldn't see us increasing. But if R. Betis think they can get more from another club that the player is willing to go, then good luck to them.

I know that but they seem to value him, if they didnt his release clause wouldn't be as high unless you're telling me every player in spain has a release clause close to 100 mil.

I think its low ball considering he is their best player/his high clause and spurs not increasing their offer shouldn't mean they should be stupid enough to sell him.
