Yes. Watching him in MLS, he played entirely as a winger or even as a wide forward. The conversion to LB has been incredible - really excellent managerial instincts to see his potential there and make the positional change.

I would completely agree with you if it wasnt for the wages he is on. For the sake of arguing/negotiating over £5/10m to get £20m annual wages of our books, it is one case where our apparent awful negotiating with Woodward at the helm, reall isnt a concern personally
And that is a very good point. Quite obviously a fantastic talented athlete.....but would he have been as much of a success for us as a left winger or up front as unlikely we would have converted him.
As many have said, these scouts must recoomend a lot of players and a lot highly too, so always going to be big ones we miss out on from not following up.
Same token though, how on earth are we buying some of the players we have done for the last 7/8years. Many of them never looked good enough or were over rated before we signed them or didnt look like the right profile of player. The money we have wasted is ridiculous. Though we have over spent on maybe all of them, bar James I do think we have been under Ole signing the right kind of players even if they wouldnt all of been my ideal choices personally.
As someone else has said, Sane is a better player so it isnt even a step forward talent wise. But makes me wonder, how can they get such a yougn exciting player for a price like that and we dotn seem able to make any bargain signings unless its a not very exciting or talented player from the championship? We havent done a great bargain deal in a very very long time now

Valencia need some money badly, and they've put Ferran up for sale. City are leading the way as they've been in negotiations for the past couple of months.
Yes contrary to a lot of opinions, I share yours that there is money for us to make in the transfer market for us this summer without having to sell the likes of Pogba. It would be way over £1m I would think per week wages wise too.
DeGea is an awkward one though as he is a concern, is Henderson ready or dare I say it actually a Number 1 for us anyway, is he actually that good or just exciting as ts a decent young English keeper and there havent been many for a while. I dont see DeGea going, if we are to be aggresive for four signings this summer though I would consider both Fred and Bailly as potential sales myself

Yes that is a part of it, but that is more missing out on our bigger targets really isnt it? A Solkjear/Johnsen/Schmeichel/Chicharito...I know we are in a more competitive world now with agents/scouts/social media, but those types of signings are not ones for huge negotiations. We seem to get linked with quite a few good young players but nothing concrete, then they excel elsewhere. The academy work signing wise looks good, the main signings are improving, its the ones inbetween, the Daniel James types we are really failing on and we probably need to make 1 or 2 good signings like that this summer in my opinion (to clarify not like Daniel James as a player I hasten to add)
Though he has had injuries and I think can develop into a very good right back unlike others.......he would actually be one of the first players I would sell. We have Laird to come through, we have Williams who can also play right back and though he has been poor recently and some seem to not rate him here, we have a fantastic young right back who is only going to get better too in Bissaka.
I think Dalot is one of those players we would sell very easily for £15-20m

What I find sort of funny is Kaveh mentioning Grealish's uncertainty. Weren't other sources strongly reporting that he wanted to leave in the past and only committed due to a gentleman's agreement for a more favourable exit?

Should be a good signing for City. Obviously not as good as Sane but not many young players are. + Herrera should move to Valencia in a separate deal which could cover 50% of Torres' transfer fee.
He was a winger mainly at first for club and country until he moved to Bayern and played his way into the XI as a LB. He's got the skills neccessary to be a class winger in Europe too but he's sort of made that FB role his own this past season so I'd expect it to continue especially given Bayern's embarrassment of riches on the wings.
Their attack is going to even more lethal with Sane and Davies on that left flank

For what it's worth--- Pereira, Dalot and TFM are cheap @ 30/25/15K per week respectively.
Rojo, Jones, Lingard, Smalling and Mata combined for 1,973 minutes in the EPL this past season. Less than the likes of Fred and James got for the entire year. United will not miss any of these players.
There's been no mention of Yangel Herrera anywhere in recent reports, though. The last time this was reported, City were offering him for 15 million Euros. which Valencia weren't keen on paying.

This article reported that Valencia were awaiting offers for Ferran Torres. Maybe it was because he wanted to leave, and I may have misinterpreted that as Valencia putting him up for sale.
That same article mentions that Gaya will become their new captain, but yeah, now would be the perfect time to get him. I'm surprised that no bigger club has gone after him yet; season after season, he's been one of their best players if not their best alongside Rodrigo.
