Ante Rebic's agent, Fali Ramadani, is meeting with Paolo Maldini to discuss Rebic's permanent transfer to Milan (Rebic is on loan from Frankfurt with an option to buy at 25 million Euros). Interestingly, Ramadani is also Jovic's agent, so many Italian journalists (including di Marzio) are linking Jovic to Milan by default.

Bonus Maldini arrival tweet:

Seems a fair deal...

Looking at the state of the current Barca board, it wouldn't surprise me if they'd accept it  Chelsea have been surprisingly efficient on the market lately though, so in theory I can actually imagine Ter Stegen considering the move, and he has some issues with the contract renewal.

Journalists have been quite keen on linking many players to both City and Chelsea this transfer window. No other club in Europe has had so many players linked to them recently. Even us, with all of our supposed resources, have only been linked with Sancho recently when, before the pandemic, we were getting linked with many more players for the first team.

Yeah that's fair. I suppose if we do sign another top defender to partner Maguire though we will at least have two very good CB's as our first team partnership and that helps when allowing for injuries and rotation as you would expect that we should always have one of them available, in the long run a higher quality pair would be better to avoid a situation like City had this season where their only decent CB was injured for large parts.

I wouldn't say I'm unhappy with Maguire overall, in fairness the price tag isn't down to him. I'm confident with the right partner he will become a very good player for us.

Well I said last season we needed two centre backs and it has shown. Personally I wouldnt have signed Maguire due to the price tag (rightly not down to him) as I think for that price there were better centre backs we could have bought. I dont think he is a bad defender though, he is a good one but he certainly isnt the main man at the back that we required like a Stam or Ferdinand, more the partner, so even with him being ENglish, it wasnt a great deal for that price

Limitless resources...

For €20m we should be in for him.

Tweet is from the 26th of June but the player has very recently said he wants to play in England.

Probably a fallback option if we can't get Partey.

Fully agree with your views man. I think he’s good but not one of the best. I wish we’d spent the £80m some other way. I get really nervous when I see him having to deal with a tough situation as I feel there’s a blunder waiting to happen. I also expected a few more goals from him this season.

Like Ole, I’m going to reserve my judgements about Maguire until the end of next season. I feel like maybeeee he might improve next season and just needed time to settle in at United where the pressure is much more intense and hence why he choked so often.

Could it be Ed is finally getting the idea of this transfer business. Rather than go out and crow about how rich you are and then get ripped off at every turn. Go out and say we won't be stupid, we're healthy but we wont overspend and then let Sancho do the rest by making it clear he wants to go. Seems like a sensible tactic finally!

Pretty sure Woodward and Ole said something about United being able to take advantage of this situation due to our revenue - think this is just a climb down after seeing Chelsea splash the cash.

That would make sense since recent rumours suggest Sancho has already made it clear that he wants to go. BVB know that.

I think his message also comes at a crucial moment. If we qualify for CL, clubs shouldn’t think increased revenues will result in extravagant spending. Likewise if we don’t qualify, it should be abundantly clear that we won’t be spending much to begin with. So if clubs do need the money, they’ll have to agree to whatever we can pay at most.

Good luck trying to get him when you finish 10th with no prospect of European football. There is no way you’re paying his release clause. You have no money. And if he wants to move it’s cause he wants more wages. Your club isn’t exactly known for paying high wages except to a couple of players.

Looks like Havertz' willingness to go to Chelsea is real as Sane slips in his name alongside Werner in a press conference. I don't know German, so I can't translate exactly what Sane is saying, but Romano's tweet offers some clarification.

Osimhen's the main focus here, but what's interesting is Napoli's interest in Boga. What will this mean for Lozano?

In the following tweet, ignore the tweet that Romano's replying to.

wow if chelsea pull this off and havertz (also been linked with ter stegen yesterday or something)

basically doing what we should be doing, hope they don't get Gimenez, always wanted him at Utd

Another one who has fell into the Chelsea trap on transfers. They are making up for a transfer ban and 150m from hazard n Morata on top of that. We've signed Maguire, Bruno, AWB etc since they did anything. You can't honestly think we can match them in the window this summer. Nobody will.

Conte reiterates that Lautaro's currently focused on Inter only and finds the rumours annoying.

Impossible! No way they have the money to get Havertz Ziyech Werner and Gimenez not to mention GK and LB. I was told real life isn't FM

Yeah not a good day when Romano is pretty much confirming Havertz to Chelsea and now talk of them signing Giminez at CB as well

Havertz is one of those signings who you can't quite see where he fits in but you're an idiot for not even trying. Chelsea don't need him either! But in 2 years he could well be one of the best in the world. It's a shame we can't sell our muck

Its annoying that we have to wait for confirmation of CL, Chelsea dont have confirmation but they seem to be making a lot noise.

Mainly because they were always going to spend big this summer to make up for that transfer ban of the last two windows, also the fact that they are bankrolled by a rich Russian Oil oligarch really helps as well.

Chelsea haven’t had a transfer window in a while , they were always going to spend this summer.

Spanish news outlets have been reporting this for a week now. James is probably going off of that as the Spanish media have kept going with that story. I haven't seen anything reliable from Spain, though, to say that they'd seriously be going after Ferran Torres. At best, I think City are keeping tabs on him and considering him an option.
