If they don't commit to buying him outright, I think we should do all we can to prevent him helping them in a competition we may have to win.

Some details on Aouchiche's upcoming transfer to St. Etienne along with info on another suitor:

Translation:
  • Aouchiche will join St. Etienne on Sunday or Monday
  • 3-year contract for the midfielder
  • Bayer Leverkusen tried everything possible to sign Aouchiche but failed

I have to say, that was really uninteresting. Who? Who cares?

I apologise for the lack of a good Tweet, but the source is this AS article, which the Tweet has translated and summarised. To put some more weight on that article, Alvaro posted this on Instagram recently:

Short translation: I am leaving Madrid to start a new chapter in my career. Thank you Real Madrid for everything!

Arsenal bring back William Saliba (from St. Etienne) only to loan out Mavropanos (to Stuttgart).

RB Salzburg sign another promising young player.

Translation: 18-year-old defensive midfielder Samson Okikiola Tijani signs for RB Salzburg! He signs a contract that lasts until 31 May 2025.

In the last 5 seasons (as long as he has been playing in the Premier League), Ake has played a grand total of 3 appearances as a DM. He has no more experience of playing the position at this level than Phil Jones does, so trying to a handful of youth appearances or a few appearances in the Championship 6 or 7 years ago to paint a picture of him being better in the position than Fred or McTominay is laughable.
Your opinion really if you think Fred and Mctominay who aren't DMs are better. I've said it already that Ake is more of a solid back option to Lindelof and Maguire and his versatility and ability to play DM is a plus since Matic is our only DM and this is if we don't get a DM this window.

Also here's an article of on May 11 last year praising Ake's performance in midfield against Tottenham and Eddie Howie saying the position is natural to him .

So I don't know where you got the idea he has only played DM in youth and 6 or 7 years ago. Think I'm derailing the thread for a player we've not been linked with and this should be in the Ake thread so I'll stop here. We can always go to the Ake thread

For those who can't see the Tweet: Leverkusen are holding out for 100 million Euros for Havertz but are open to add-ons/bonuses to make up the fee. I don't know why Falk said this re: Havertz but didn't re: Sancho. Bonuses/add-ons as part of the fee would be possible for both players. Is he trying to wind up United fans?

For those who can't see the tweet: Liverpool's young left back Yasser Larouchi (19) is rejecting a contract extension, demanding more first-team football at this stage. He's in his final year. Leeds & Brentford are linked with him.

I thought it said interesting update? I was expecting that he fooked klopps wife or something

I can't find a better Tweet on this, but Shanghai Shenhua sign Obafemi Martins on a 2-year contract. Do they think that Ighalo might not come back?

How the feck is he still playing? Must be like 40 years old

Nah I'm happy to leave it there too. Don't need to be getting dragged into a longwinded discussion about why two Man Utd midfielders might or might not be better at playing in midfield than a Bournemouth centre back.

Lille's director Marc Inglan confirms that Osimhen will leave Lille and that the transfer is "down to the final details".

At this stage, Napoli have Mertens, Milik, and Osimhen for the striker role. Lozano looks to be a wide player under Gattuso. Is there going to be a new role for Mertens, or is Gattuso looking to move one of Milik or him on?

Arteta admits to not having much money to sign high-quality players at Arsenal.
No surprise to anyone, maybe minus AFTV. Last summer had 50M to spend, then had to pay-off Emery, no money from tickets and tv companies want some money back. Highly doubt Arteta can spend more than 15-20M before sales.

That must be Greenwood’s worst shot since his debut. We’re getting slightly better though.

Edit: whoops wrong thread!

Is he quick?

Sportitalia (an Italian TV channel) are claiming that Fiorentina are close to signing Mario Mandzukic.

So people want a CB from a midtable Bundesliga team now and think he Will walk into first XI?

Havent seen the guy in action but people really are naive in here sometimes.

Kabak I've heard many times being herald as one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga.

Not sure this Carlos link is legit or it's simply agent's talk. However, sounds like Pep wants a left-footed back-up (Verthongen, Pau Torres) and 1st choice RCB.

Carlos would be a shout for United tbh. Maguire seems to favour LCB and Carlos is a quick RCB with the pace to cover Maguire & he's decent on the ball.

How decent are the telegraph as a source? respected?
