I hope he stays. Maybe not the player who starts every match, but a great squad player and someone you can trust. I guess his good to have around the squad as well.
You need a squad you know. Can’t wait for Mata’s pace on the wing next year. Sancho who?
Why? Seems Sancho and Pepe aren't interested in joining us at this point so we have no replacement. Would leave us with Pogba/Lingard for 10 and Lingard/A youngster for RW. And that's if you see Pogba as a 10 when our midfield (6/8) is understaffed as well. Would rather keep him as a squad option for one more year than be over reliant on the likes of Greenwood and Chong. Don't forget Nicky Butt has been very vocal about how we shouldn't ruin more y9outh players by throwing them in the deep end
As long he plays as a 10 not RW then agree.I hope he stays. Maybe not the player who starts every match, but a great squad player and someone you can trust. I guess his good to have around the squad as well.
Mata staying is fine. Some other spoofers should be getting the boot though
Not even JuneIt looks like the only one's that could still leave are the one's that rarely featured ie. Rojo and Darmian. Even they aren't linked with anything so far.
Think the signing of Daniel James and renewal of Juan Mata is turning De Ligt's big head? When Barca are saying we brought Frenkie, we have Messi, we'll add Griezmann, etc...Being us I would say absolutely. Maybe if we resign Mata they will count him also!
I agree. Other than his exceptional attitude, work ethic, and charcter, we could definitely use him in games where we need more creativity up front rather than speed. Games where the opposition sits back. We haven't had many of them this season, as most teams fancy themselves against us, but this will hopefully change next season.I hope he stays. feck sake, when will we ever learn to get rid of players who are not good enough. Even city done it with their captain Kompany they knew he was past his best and let him go, had he played for us we would have kept giving him a new contract until he wanted to give it a day.
Not sure where the Pepe not interested is coming from, however they are not the only 2 RW in the market.
RW being the key position we have not rectified for about 6 years its imperative we get an upgrade this summer and no Mata isn't good enough to play there as we have seen already

Not even June
Then who? Which other RW's are on the market right now?
I think Mata is staying because we can't land Sancho. He's clearly our #1 target and so spending 50-60 mill on Pepe (who IMO isn't that special) for him to be backup to Sancho next year doesn't make much sense (provided we improve and sign Sancho next year), so I guess that's why we are giving Mata an extension
That transfer strategy would be ten times worse than overpaying for Fellaini sincerly hope it's not the caseI think Mata is staying because we can't land Sancho. Pleased enough with Mata. He's going to be on cheaper wages than Martial _Co.and happy with a squad role. He tends to show a better attitude and I'd shift other deadweight ahead of him (Lingard).
Feck sake. I'd rather play Fred on the right at this point.
