Stupid from Fellaini to not buckle down a bit. He's finished with us but can't sign with anyone else too.

Hypothetical.

Suddenly United announces tomorrow that Fellaini just signed a new three year contract.

How many people here will remain healthy after the announcement?

Not many.

Many will predict they wont watch United anymore, will stop support the club, demand Jose to get the sack, protests outside OT (my favorite), wont go to games, have a meltdown.

Once we sign one, I think we'll sign the rest in quick succession.

Getting real tired of this early stage. I just want the world cup to start so we can actually have a decent distraction.

Wow, what a quitter. So he doesn’t think the group can continue to win so quits. Why not prove you’re a good manager and rebuild? Doesn’t want to deal with the strong personalities

To rebuild in RM? Not sure is that even possible.

Likewise.

I think we will have two of the easier targets wrapped up before the World Cup (Fred and Dalot), perhaps our left-back sometime during the world cup but our center-back signing (Alderweireld?) will likely drag on as will our marquee signing (RW/RF?). I am confident we'll have all our new signings by opening day but with the last 1 or 2 signing literally a week before the season.

This. Nevermind Fred, Milinkovic-Savic, Bale and Griezmann. Thiago would solve most of our offensive problems in a 433, and I would be happy to take him as our only offensive signing this summer. But I have a sneaking feeling that he will go back to Barcelona.

I do really like Thiago....but Pogba and Thiago as 2 of the 3 central midfielders, neither have much in the way of defensive qualities. Obviously want attacking football but is there perhaps a worry defensively, lets face it most teams seem to cruise past our midfield to our defence as it is this past season

Has he stagnated this season? He was being linked with much better teams the previous two summers.

No, just been injured for the most part of the first half of the season. Played his first game at the beginning of December. Lazio were less reliant on him though, due to Luis Alberto and Milinkovic-Savic.

He needs to sign with someone and fast. The WC is just around the corner, and he won’t want the risk of getting injured while being without a contract.

What difference does it make to United anyway. Once his contract runs out, he won't be their problem anymore. I no longer view him as a United player anymore. I just hope Mourinho doesn't do anything silly.

Matteo Darmian will undergo a medical to complete his €12m transfer from Manchester United to Juventus, claim Sportitalia.
The full-back was spotted in Milan today and is expected to have his medical tests tomorrow in Turin.

Seems cheap in today's market, even for him.

Why are we the only top club flogging players for peanuts??

If someone hasn't seen it yet - the Juventus documentary on Netflix is pretty cool. Darmian s story made me think of that. Hope they ll do one like that about United one of these days.

We don’t have much leverage in these negotiations, do we? We want to get rid and player has been abysmal for two years now, I’m amazed we’re getting anything in return for him.

Maybe i'm over-analysing, but if we want to sign a player going to the World Cup, don't we need to do it next week?

In a week, Player X will fly to the World Cup. Potentially he stays there until July 16/17th. Then he'll go on holiday. Around that time United go on tour, which Ed Woodward always goes on too. By the time United get back from tour and Player X gets back from his post-WC holiday, we're looking at about August 1st or 2nd. Actually as footballers seem to go on 3 week holidays after Summer competitions, it could even be later. Then the transfer window ends on August 9th. So it's either this week or deadline day basically.

Tend to agree. He may not be playing but he an international defender. How can we not sell him for over £10m? Even Championship sides are selling players for more than this now.

There are better players in the championship than Darmain.

Player's salary at United are probably much higher than most would offer which probably lowers the transfer fee any club will offer. United are probably just glad to get him off the books.
