They just added 3 academy players to their first team (rafinha, munir, aleña), and another 2 will be first team subs while playing with the b team (puig, miranda). Not sure any other top team in the world promoted so many academy players this summer.
I thought Munir was being sold and Rafinha had already been sold?

Yeah and where are they going to play them again?
If they had any plans of playing them, why have they bought Arthur and are about to buy De Jong plus are interested in buying Pogba?
Promoting youngsters and playing them are two entirely different things

Also are you talking about El Hadadi and Thiago's brother Rafinha?
Munir was supposed to be the next best thing and he burst into the scene years ago and has not improved since then. Same with Rafinha. They have not been promoted to the first team now, they have been in and out of it for years.

IIIRC they have a young CB who was supposed to be the next pique. What happens to him now that they have bought Lengelt and are also looking at De Ligt?

People should also keep in mind that unlike many teams, they have a settled first team and so have the opportunity to blood in some youngsters. But instead they are ignoring their academy and going for the flavour of the month. Just look at Mina, a player who doesn't suit them and their ball playing high line ; but he was bought because he played well in the Brazilian league.

Sorry to derail the thread

Wheeler writes that Pogba’s primary reason for seeking a move is because he wants Barca. Any issues with Mourinho secondary to that. I find that plausible. So many rumours about the Catalans tapping him up after all.

Well if he's gonna go, he's gonna go. But I hope United do the right thing and make the feckers pay through the nose for him!

Depends how hard Pogba or better say Raiola go for it. If there is a strike of a player Woody will think twice about having 100milion 250k a week asset rotten in the reserves.

Its a game of poker and whether Ed calls Raiolas bluff. As for the price Barca will offer its quiet easy - 50mil they already offered, plus 35mil they sold Mina for to Everton and Andre Gomez lets say 20mil so I expect an opening Barcelona bid in the region of around 100mil euros. The final offer of around 140mil or unhapy star player in reserves. They did the same to Liverpool with Coutinho. Thats Barcas fekin modus operandi these days.

Anything less than a world record fee and they can feck off.

Bit of an odd decision with the fitness record of their other defenders bar VVD. Klavan made 19 league appearances last season and Liverpool didn't have a CB on the bench vs West Ham.

If you have a player on strike at deadline transfer day you let him go for less than a record breaking fee.
He's not going to go on strike through the season. He hasn't even 'done a Coutinho' despite these supposed problems with Mourinho and made himself available for our first game this season when he didn't have to.

Hope it's true, tired of seeing one of the few decent players from my country playing for Liverpool. Think the tempo in Italy will suit him better anyway.

Real reporting someone for an illegal approach
Laughable.

The suggestions that Pogba has done a Coutinho are utterly ridiculous. Coutinho literally faked an injury to not play for Liverpool, an half fit Pogba made himself available for the team and was playing for us when the rest of the players who played in the WC Semi Final or above stayed on the bench.

"United sources have said 'nothing is happening' about a possible departure for the Italian and indicated they hope Darmian stays as he is a 'great professional'
....United were prepared to jettison Marcos Rojo but failed to sign a centre-back while the board blocked a move for Anthony Martial, despite Mourinho's openness to selling him."

Well we need Rojo as Blind has been sold and we didn't bring another CB in, thats why he's staying.

No one wanting Darmian is hardly a surprise considering how awful he's been for years. Add to that United ridiculously overestimating his value.

So basically we can’t now play Rojo or Darmian because the manager has admitted they are not good enough. What look bad if they started when anyone else was available.

Can we do the same to Barca for allegedly tapping up Pogba by having that unauthorised meeting with Abidal in US . They have been banned from the transfer market earlier for something related to young player registration and transfers . So who knows maybe FIFA takes action again and ban them .

We already played Darmian in the first game. I doubt Rojo will get much game time until our usual defencive injury crisis rolls around.

Oh look, yet another article trying to portray City as not overspending on players. They are really pushing this agenda.
It says it's from the documentary, not a briefing. Not watched it yet but I'd assume he wouldn't lie about the source since it's easily verifiable.
