Will Mourinho press conference for the game Friday be before the transfer window closes or after?? Be interesting if it was after and we didn't sign anyone.

Worry not, comrades, for this will be just like the 06/07 season when we only signed Carrick, had a meltdown, and went on to win the league after losing out the previous years!

:nervous:

This is gonna end Berbatov fashion. We gonna get Alderweirld on the final second.

Think the Alderweireld deal is still on, and it might go all the way until deadline day. Would prefer if we got him even if he might be a bit expensive, and if the reports about them wanting to sign a replacement first are true that might be what the deal hinges on.

I think that's perhaps the hopes of the board and Jose and then next summer hope there's better value. It's conceivable we are expecting Lukaku to keep improving, Pogba to start showing his class on a more consistent basis and Sanchez to have settled in and the others like Martial, Shaw to start pulling their weight a bit more.

I don't think we were ever in for a left-back and I think Jose would have liked an improvement on a central defender and Wilian or Bale if available but not signing for the sake of it. Not saying that's right I just think that's the way it is. Our deals for Fred and Dalot were wrapped up so quickly it makes you think.

So Chelsea find out they need a goalkeeper - they immediately bid for one and have the bid accepted. Wish United had operated this way earlier in the summer.
IF that's true. Chelsea have not and will not "bid" for anyone. They will be depositing the amount of the release clause with the LFP. Completely different to bidding on a player without a release clause and having to work with the selling club. They'd essentially be bypassing Athletic.

Well this is the point - Chelsea are willing to spend the money to buy a player identified by their manager. Why are United not willing to do the same? We clearly have more money than the likes of Chelsea. And Mou has identified his targets six months ago. We've had half a year to negotiate and bid. Chelsea get their business done in 8 hours.

If Chelsea rate Kepa at €80m they'll spend €80m on him. If we rate Alderweireld at £40m we will spend £40m on him. Difference is Kepa has a release clause for that amount. Alderweireld doesn't have a release clause and Spurs want to get a good chunk more.

They haven't though? If anything, Chelsea has hardly been an example of how transfers should be done in recent years. Getting Robert Green, Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Barkley... while losing players such as Diego Costa, Matic, and now Courtois.

The lady will say no transfer questions. The first question will be about transfers. Jose will walk out.

They've also had sporadic links to Butland and Pickford since June-ish I believe to replace Courtois.

Says it all, we are competing with the likes of Everton and Lyon for a mediocre player.

Finally found our level!

I can tell you one thing, media doesn't know shit around us they're simply guessing in the hope it sticks.

So that appears to be where we are. Competing with Everton and Lyon? I really hope this is wrong as it would definitely look like just sign anyone to appease the fans and it will have the opposite effect.

Do you believe everything you read?

What a dreadful window it's been. If the board wasn't gonna give the manager the players he wanted then why extend his contract? Why not just sack him if he doesn't have the boards support. We're certainly stagnating this season.
